- Hollow cylinders for lip balm (standard);
- natural base for balm (A);
- aroma oil for lip balm (with the smell of chewing gum or any other);
- cosmetic ink;
- sweetener for balm.
About aromamaslax
The maximum total percentage of oils in balsams forlips - 3% (multiply the mass of your balm by 0.03 and the figure obtained - the amount of oil you want to add), but it's better to start with 1% and gradually add more. In order to distribute it evenly, use the pipette. For every 28 g you need about 6 drops.
Why cylinders and jars?
Because the balm is two-color. Cylinders are required only in the manufacturing process, the balm will be stored in jars. Use only clean cylinders, without the remnants of the previous balm! It is not technically necessary to use special tubular cylinders, any tuba in general is suitable here, but these are well suited to the size of jars, and, besides, they are easy to obtain.
Prepare jars
If you observe the proportions given here,then you will get 3 jars of balsam, so you will need on average 3 jars and 3 cylinders. Remove the covers from the cans, turn the cylinders upside down and place them upside down in the middle of each can.
How to make a balm
- Wear gloves. Place the measuring cup on the scale, adjust the scale so that the scale shows 0 when the glass is on it, and measure 28.3 grams of the basis for the balm.
- Put the glass with the main in the microwavefor 30 seconds. The base will become softer. The main task is to heat the substrate so that it becomes liquid, but not overheat it. This is usually enough for two times for 30 seconds in a microwave oven. Do not forget to cool the contents of the glass a bit before putting it a second time.
- Add oil to the mass with a pipette. Start better with 1% and gradually bring up to 3% (or stop at a lower figure).
For 28 grams of balsam:
- 6 drops - 1%
- 12 drops - 2%
- 18 drops - 3%.
- Pipette with a sweetener and carefullystir. The standard rate is 2%, and the maximum recommended rate is 3%. Sweeteners are sometimes sold in the form of tubes or briquettes; if you have one, preheat it in a microwave oven to a liquid state. How to check whether the future balm is sweet enough: drip two drops from the pipette into your hand and let them dry for a couple of seconds, and then touch your lips. Do not exceed the dosage!
- Take a clean pipette, fill it with balsam andgently start filling the space in the jar around the cylinder. After that, let the balm cool down. Do not touch the cylinder in the process and do not remove it until the balsam hardens! This will take at least 2 hours.
- When the balsam is completely hardened, remove the cylinder - do it carefully, slightly twisting it before that so that the mass of the balm does not crack.
- Now the balm in the jars looks like a ring. In the middle you need to add a balm of a different color.
- Repeat steps 1-4, using a 14.2 g base for balm. The oil can be added with a different odor.
- Now add to the liquid mixture 2 drops of cosmetic ink of the chosen color (for example, blue).
- Dial the mixture with a clean pipette and fill the hole in the middle of the already frozen balm.
- Leave the balsam to harden, and then close the lid. Done.
