New Year's Musketeer CostumePerhaps most boys dream of childhoodbe brave and courageous defenders, standing up for the weak and helpless. Therefore, probably, on the New Year's matinees so popular are the costumes of superheroes. However, long before the appearance of Spider-Man and Superman, the defender's standard was the musketeers. So that New Year's Musketeer Costume no less popular than the costumes of comic book heroes.

How to make a carnival costume for a musketeerhands? First, let's "break" it into elements to decide which ones can be bought or altered from the existing clothes, and which ones will have to be done from scratch. So, The musketeer costume consists of:

  • cloak or cloak;

  • shirts;

  • trousers or breeches;

  • wide-brimmed hat with a feather;

  • boots;

  • swords and belts.

Let's start with the shirt. For a Musketeer costume, a white shirt with a wide collar and sleeves. It can be sewn by any suitable pattern,you can also buy ready. The sleeves of the shirt must be adorned with wide lace cuffs or flounces. You can additionally sew to a jabot shirt, but if the musketeer cape is closed, it makes no sense.

As trousers you can use ordinary black pants, which will be tucked into boots. If instead of boots other shoes are planned (for example, Czechs - not too musketeer, but convenient), better sew breeches blue or blue from stretch velorusing any suitable pattern. The breeches should be wide and assemble down on the elastic band. Combine the breeches with white tights.

The most important and difficult part of the Musketeer costume is a raincoat. Most likely, you will have to sew it yourself. The best thing for making a raincoat is blue or blue satin, combined in tone with the breeches.

From the atlas you need to cut two rectangles. The first will be the base of the cape, its width shouldequal to the width of the shoulders of the child, length - twice the distance from the shoulder to the hips. The second rectangle should be 4-6 cm less in length and width. It must be cut into two equal parts, since they will be sleeves.

Handle the edges of the raincoat with an oblique batting of white or silver color. Next, fold the future cloak in half and Cut out the neck in such a way that it fits under the collar of the shirt. To the head of the child freely passed into the throat, you need to make a cut behind and sew a zipper in it, or make loops and sew buttons. Treat the neck with tape or edge.

For the sleeves to lie naturally, give them a semi-circle shape from the side that will be sewn to the cloak. The three straight sides are treated with an oblique bake, and the semicircular sweep and sew to the base.

From the white ribbon make four crosses and sew them to the sleeves, front and backcloak. Instead of crosses, you can use other symbols, for example, heraldic lilies (fleur-de-fis), but the easiest application is to make cross-dressing.

Of course, you can make a costume musketeer with a cape of another style, for example, with a simple raincoat on the strings. It is made on the pattern of a skirt-half sun; The inner radius will be equal to the radius of the throat, the outer radius to the desired length of the cloak. Process the neck and the bottom with an oblique bake, sew the strings and appliqué.

Now we need buy a sword in the children's store or make it yourself. The handle of the sword can be cut from the same fabric,which you used for the cloak. Make two parts, fold them face to face and sew, leaving a small hole. Turn out the handle, fill it with any filler, insert a plastic stick from the balloon into the hole. The handle can be decorated with beads, rhinestones, etc.

Sheath for the sword is not necessary - you can justput a wide belt on the child, for which he will plug the sword. But the belt may not be visible under the cloak, so it's better to make a sword belt (a wide belt over the shoulder) and attach the sword to it. The hat can be taken ready or made of cardboard and painted or covered with a cloth. And do not forget the pen. Everything, the musketeer costume is ready!
