New Year's decorations from the store, no matter how great their choice is, are too often not to their liking. Make your own, perfect for your holiday!

Whatever decoration or toy you did not do, imitation of snow or frost on it will always be relevant. Artificial snow or frost can be done in several ways:

  • buy a special "hoarfrost" in spray cans and spray on a toy, table, cabinet, etc .;

  • Spray the toy or surface with toothpaste and toothbrush (especially important for mirrors and glasses);

  • with the help of salt: drop the object into a hot brine and then dry it (for wood);

  • with the help of polystyrene: apply glue, sprinkle with the crumbs of polystyrene;

  • just white paint (especially often - for toys on the tree).

New Year's decorations for a Christmas tree with your own hands

Ball of paper

Classics for the Christmas tree. There are so many variations of this toy, here are the two fastest. For both of you, you will need color paper (you can with patterns or generally just pages from old magazines), glue, stapler, thread and scissors.

  1. Cut out 12 identical sized circles andstack them with a pile. Carefully fold the entire pile in half. At the location of the fold, fix the mugs with a stapler and straighten the resulting figure. Now take the glue and begin to gently glue the adjacent halves of the circles so that they lie as if obliquely - one half (say, the upper one) by sticking to the previous semicircle, and the second, bottom - to the next. Tie a string and hang the toy on the tree.

  2. Cut out 8 equally sized circles andbend the edges so that an equilateral triangle is formed in the center of each circle. All the bent edges should look in one direction. Now glue them together: first twice in four, connecting the bent edges, then folding the figure into one. Glue or tie a string - and the Christmas ball is ready.

A ball of threads (openwork)

Air decoration on the tree. The method of its production is close to papier-mâché. You will need: glue PVA, petroleum jelly or children's cream, thread, ribbon or yarn of any type, thickness and color, and a small balloon. Dilute the glue in water and put yarn in there - let it get soaked. Inflate the ball and spread it with cream. Then start wrapping yarn around it.

You can do the turns chaotically, but you can "spit out"some kind of pattern. Leave the design to dry (at least for a day), and after bursting ball of yarn needle inside or just gently deflate it - thanks to the cream he not pull of a string, and you will be like a round "frame" of the ball. Now simply tie a rope to it, decorate with sequins or ribbon, if you want, and hang on the Christmas tree.

Old fur-tree toys

Many store old toys, but no longerdecorate them with a Christmas tree, because they look dull and peeling off. They can also be "decorated" - wrapped in a bright gift paper (be sure to add a small bow). So they will look new and interesting (like a gift hanging on a Christmas tree), but the toy itself will not suffer: after the holiday simply unfold it and discard the paper.

But who said that the only decoration of the housefor the New Year should be a Christmas tree? Make ornaments and for the whole house as a whole, for example, garlands. They can be made of paper and cardboard, connecting short strips in links, or you can - from sweets. Edible jewelry for the New Year is a very old tradition. Take more sweets in colorful candy wrappers, puncture the ends of these candy wrappers or simply tie each candy string.

You can add twigs with coniferous needles. In principle, Christmas toys can be hung not on the tree. Lay them on the shelves, add to the shelves. For example, a wicker basket with a pine branch and several large Christmas balls inside can become a nice decoration.
