Uniform interior - trend-2017: myths and reality
Stylish, harmonious, intelligent - suchEpithets are usually full of descriptions of a single-colored interior in glossy magazines. Looking at the great promotional photos, it's hard not to agree with such a statement. But how true is it? Designers debunk the most common axioms.
Myth number 1. The monophonic interior is easy.
Reality. Making a room in a single color scheme requires much more effort than choosing a familiar classic or minimalistic style. It is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the cold and warm spectrum of the chosen colors and masterfully combine them, avoiding excesses.
Decision. When starting self-repair, you should prefer a soft monochrome or pastel palette - it is elegant, practical and allows experiments with decor.
Myth number 2. The monophonic interior is suitable for any space.
Reality. Of decisive importance is the chosen "dominant" color: dark and intense tones do not look the best in a small room or in a room with a lack of lighting.
Decision. As if you did not like the spectacular and fashionable shade, always correlate it with the features of the room and its functional purpose. The general rule: for bedrooms and dining rooms - quiet colors, for living rooms and lounge zones - brighter.
Myth number 3. The monophonic interior is universal.
Reality. Paradoxically, the monophonic design should be in harmony with the architecture of the building and even its geographical location. So, the "acidic" interior turns out to be alien for the old house, and the cheerful-blue "Mediterranean" decoration can be discordant with the northern landscapes outside the window.
Reality. Try to choose those colors that seamlessly fit into the common space - not just the rooms, but the terrain.
