How can I restore the phone's battery? How do I check the battery capacity?
In the process of using the mobile phonethe battery inevitably "grows old". This negative moment is characterized by a rapid discharge of the battery, a long period of charging. Sometimes, after disabling as a result of discharge, the mobile device no longer responds to the press of the power button. The phenomenon is sad, but for lithium batteries, used as power sources for mobile phones, characteristic and everyday. You can buy a new power source, but it will be more economical to restore its capacity to the standard value.
Phone battery capacity
Battery capacity (expressed in Latin C)called the allowed maximum value of its charge. This characteristic is characterized through the time during which it is possible to use the power source until its charge is completely depleted. This indicator depends on the strength of the current. It is calculated by means of a simple multiplication of the nominal current for a time in seconds. This value is indicated on the housing, together with the maximum voltage value and battery type.
Reducing the nominal capacityThe device is due to contamination of the cathode and the anode. Because of this, the physical and chemical processes are slowed down, thanks to which the accumulator is able to give back the accumulated charge. By supplying a charge to the cathode and anode with a large current value, it is possible to restore the original capacitance value.
How to check the phone's battery
To test the lithium batterymobile phone you need a voltmeter - a device that allows you to measure the voltage of equipment. But before you check the value of this indicator, it is worthwhile to perform a visual inspection of the battery.
A battery that has been in operation for a long timeterm, can be deformed - it's corny to swell. Contacts contacted with water can oxidize. And after mechanical impact, the case can be damaged. All this has a negative effect on the specific capacitance value.
In order to check the battery you need:
the positive contact of the voltmeter is connected to the positive terminal;
negative contact - respectively, to the negative pole;
set the nominal value of the measured voltage in the settings.
The voltage value obtained as a result of measurements will characterize the degree of charge of the battery.
If in detail, then:
3,6-3,7 V - the battery is fully charged, high capacity;
about 2 V - the battery is discharged, the average value of the capacity;
less than 1 V - it is necessary to restore the power source.
How to repair the phone's battery
The easiest way to revive a dozenphones, does not require the use of additional equipment. You will need a charger and a 3.5V bulb. Firstly, it will be necessary to charge the phone as much as possible - this will take several hours. And secondly, it needs to be quickly discharged "to zero" - this will help a light bulb, if it is connected to the terminals of the battery. Repeat this simple operation will need several times.
But this method will not help absolutely "dead" lithium batteries. In this case, you need to apply a method of increasing the voltage, which has restored more than one battery.
In this case you will need:
IP - power supply, with the possibility of adjustment and visual control of key indicators;
rheostat;
temperature sensor;
cooling device.
The temperature sensor is needed to control the temperaturebattery. It should not exceed 50 ° C, because when it exceeds the limits, chemical processes begin that can lead to the final damage to the battery. One should also take into account the presence on the phone battery of the controller responsible for monitoring the degree of its charge. Its presence on the battery will not allow you to connect third-party chargers. Therefore, the terminals of this electronic board will need to be disconnected by the wiring.
Recovery actions:
It is necessary to discharge the battery to the valuevoltage in 1 V. To monitor this procedure, a voltmeter is connected in parallel to the battery. Then discharge the device to a voltage value of not more than 1 V. No more than a quarter of an hour - the minimum voltage will be reached.
After complete discharge, it will be necessary to collectthe following scheme. The ammeter is connected in series to the battery terminals, and in parallel - the IP is connected. Voltage is controlled by a voltmeter, connected in parallel with the PI.
Starting from the minimum value, with the rheostat, the voltage rises to a value of 1/10 of the nominal capacity (indicated in the operating manual and on the battery case).
Continuing to smoothly raise the voltage value,it is necessary to monitor the ammeter readings. And current intensity falls proportionally to the increasing voltmeter readings. When the voltmeter reaches 1.5 volts, the voltage is increased and charging is performed at this voltage.
To charge the battery it is necessary to stop, when the ammeter will show almost zero value.
If necessary (recommended) the reanimation process should be repeated several times.
A battery that has restored its capacity,it will be necessary to collect after the end of the "medical" procedure, soldering the controller into place. Even in the most difficult cases, you can always charge the phone's battery, restore the charge level enough to make several calls.
