Starter feed for fry: how to feed aquarium fry?
The most difficult for breeding aquarium fish is the cultivation of their offspring, as the fry has special requirements, both to the general state of their environment and to the fodder.
And in some species of fry of aquarium fish, food preferences may differ significantly. Therefore, any novice aquarist should know exactly what to feed the fry of different breeds of fish.
Let's start with guppies, because these fish areThe most popular among beginners and do not make too serious requirements for feed. In the first few days after their birth, foul-milking guppies should be constantly fed, so that the food is always in the water in sufficient quantities.
The ideal option in this case isfeeding live food, for example, live dust or a microchair, which is grown on carrots and finely chopped. Also, you can buy special live food in pet stores.
From the second week they can already give cyclops, daphnia and shredded washed pipe. As for dry food, it can also be given, however, not more often than once a week. In the first weeks of feeding is done - 4-5 times a day, and then - 3 times, up to two months. An additional popular and unpretentious type of aquarium fish are the ancistrus.
Aquarists love these fish for the fact that theyHelp in cleaning up your habitat from the remnants of food of other fish. Nevertheless, one should know what to feed the fry of the ancistrus, because they are unlikely to develop normally when fed with a normal dry food. The most popular food for fry of this species is the egg yolk.
You just need to boil hard-boiled eggs, grinda small piece of yolk in the hands and pour into the water to the fish. Further, when they are already a little older, you can also include in the diet of finely chopped tubule. These feeds will allow your fish to grow much faster, because they are rich in all the necessary substances.
Also, the egg yolk is good as afodder for fry of swords. They generally consume both live and dry food with enviable pleasure. Therefore, they can be fed and dry daphnia and Artemia larvae, bred in advance from eggs, which are sold in many stores.
Artemia is a favorite food and frycichlids, at the initial stage they can be fed with larvae, and a little later, when they grow up, you can give and crustaceans a little more. Also at the initial stage, they can give yolk eggs, but the infusoria does not even need to be grown, because it already exists in the aquarium, and all that is required is to create good conditions for its reproduction.
Meanwhile, the main requirement for feeding thesespecies of fish is a regular cleaning of the water and the bottom, because the fry do not eat all the food and it quickly deteriorates. One of the most voracious fry is the scalar. Their feeding should be done several times a day in small portions.
At first they, like most other fry,may well feed on infusoria. In order for the infusorians to be sufficient in the aquarium, it is recommended to add stagnant tap water to it. Further, fry with pleasure use various zooplankton.
TThe same can be said about the fry of Mollies -they very well eat live dust, naupliyu artemia and cyclops. Naturally, in most cases for feeding fry, you can also use dry food for adult fish, mashed to the state of dust.
However, in most cases this will notthe desired result, as they will develop slowly or may become completely ill. That's why for the younger generation it is recommended to use live food, the blessing that now it is not a problem to get it.
