Armchair-bag with own handsSoft and cozy frameless armchairs-bagsbecome more popular: this furniture is not only convenient, but original. Furniture stores offer a wide range of such seats, but it is realistic to sew bag chair.

Generally, the manufacture of furniture in the home- it's not easy. But the chair-bag (it's binbag, binbeg) is a pleasant exception. Due to the lack of a frame, this chair is literally bag filled with polystyrene. Therefore, making a chair-bag with your own hands is quite easy.

The arm-bag consists of two covers: the inner and the outer. The inner case performs a purely practical function: if the outer cover breaks, the filler will not emerge from the chair. And the outer cover is the "face" of your chair.

For the inner case suitable any strong blended fabric, you can take a mattress or raincoat. For the outer cover, use upholstery fabricsuitable for you in texture and color. You can take jacquard, oxford, furniture velor, chenille, denim or even leatherette.

You need 2.5 meters of fabric for the outer and inner covers (if the width of the roll is one and a half meters). From such quantity of a fabric there will be a standard armchair-bag in the form of a drop (pear) a diameter of about 90 cm and a height of about 120 cm. It can withstand loads of up to 100 kg.

In addition to the fabric, you will need two zippers (long40-50 cm for the inner case and 1 m for the outer cover), a 5 to 10 cm velcro (to connect both covers in the upper part), strong threads (preferably reinforced), and filler. Fill up the seat-bags with polystyrene beads 0.5-1 cm in diameter, you will need 200-300 liters (about 4 kg) of these balls.

To sew a bag chair yourself, first thing you need translate the pattern (see the figure) to parchment or millimeter paper and carefully cut out all the details of the pattern with scissors, to get a pattern.

Then, using a translate the pattern on fabric and cut out the necessary details. You should have 6 wedges, two pieces for the bottom (four in all), the other parts in one copy.

To sew a cover, fold the inside with two wedges. Then they need to be sewn, leaving 1-1.5 cm of allowance. In the same way sew all the wedges and sew a zipper. Lightning is best placed at the bottom of the chair so that it does not break from the load on the chair.

From the front, make a delay by capturing the allowances. Then sew the bottom and top of the bag. The bottom, by the way, can be made from one single piece. In this way both bags are sewn - both external and internal.

Then you need to Fill the inner case with polystyrene beads.. It is most convenient to do this using a funnel made ofpaper. Take a sheet of paper and fold it, like a bag for seeds, to make a funnel. Insert the funnel with a narrow edge into the inner bag and fill the polystyrene through it. The bag should be filled with polystyrene for about two thirds or three quarters, and not "under the string."

Fill the inner cover, zip. Pour polystyrene very carefully, because if it gets into your mouth or nose, it can cause an airway injury! You can not fill a bag chair in the presence of children or pets. And after filling the chair you need to thoroughly vacuum the room.

Then insert the inner cover into the outer, fasten them with Velcro and zip the top cover. If you want, you can sew several variants of the top cover and change them depending on the time of year, your mood or just as pollution.

As you can see, to sew a chair-bag with your own hands is not so difficult. The main thing is to choose high-quality, durable materials, so that your comfortable chair will last you as long as possible.
