How to sew a road pillow under your neck with your hands: photo master class

It is very comfortable and does not allow the neck to swell intime of prolonged sitting. Traveling with a pillow under the neck and head in an airplane, car or other form of transport, you can comfortably rest and sleep during the long journey.

Of course, in the specialized stores today there is a wide selection of such accessories. However, a pillow under your neck, made with your own hands, will surely bring you much more joy.

In this photo-lesson, we will tell you how to sew such athe right thing. For this master class you will need inexpensive materials. And it is not necessary to make a pillow of exactly the same size as in our photo-lesson - after studying the master class, you can make the product you need.

Also, using the knowledge gained in thislesson, you can sew another original accessory - a pillow for feeding babies. From the road cushion it differs only in size - and the technology of sewing is applied exactly the same.

This master class is designed for the master of anylevel - this task should be handled even by a beginner needlewoman. No special skills you will not need - except that the ability to sew on a sewing machine. So, let's proceed directly to the manufacture of our pillow.

Step-by-step instruction for the manufacture of a pillow for the neck

In this photo-lesson we will make a pillowlength about thirty centimeters (from top to bottom) and a width of thirty-three centimeters. As already mentioned, you can sew a cushion of the size that you need, respectively, changing the parameters of the pattern. For our pillow, we will also sew a removable zippered bag so that it can be removed and washed, if necessary.

For manufacturing you will need the following materials:

- two cuts of cotton fabric for a removable cover length and width of half a meter;

- two cuts of synthetic fabric for the actual pillow itself (it is better to take a water-repellent fabric) with a length and width of half a meter;

- synthetic filler for the pillow, for example, holofayber;

- tape length of thirteen centimeters;

- a lightning length of 25 centimeters;

- thread of suitable colors;

- tailoring pins;

- sewing machine.

Step 1. - Make a pattern. On paper, draw a pillow of a semicircular shape (such as in the photo).

Step 2. - Transfer the pattern to a synthetic fabric. Spray both pieces of fabric faceup inside, grind them with tailor's pins and sweep the perimeter of the pattern. Cut the pattern from the fabric, leaving the allowances on the seams 1 - 1.5 centimeters.

Step 3. - Stitch your pillow around the perimeter, leaving about five centimeters on the bottom.

Step 4. - Turn out your pillow, inward place the filler. Stitch the remaining stitch by hand.

Step 5. - We sew a "pillowcase". Measure out on top of one of the pieces of fabric 13 centimeters. Cut along. Stick in the zipper.

Step 6. - Kneel together two cuts of hb tissue face-to-face. Attach the pattern so that the zipper is at the top of the pillow, cut, leaving 1 - 1.5 centimeters for the seam. From above sew the tape, for which the pillow can then be suspended.

Step 7. - Tear the cover on the machine, unscrew, unzip and place the pillow inside the cover.
