How to Make Lotion



Lotion and thick body oil with shea butter



In order to make a lotion with shea butter, take:




  • 2 heat-resistant measuring cups;


  • mixer;


  • thermometer for liquids;


  • funnel;


  • pan;


  • container for the finished lotion.


  • 130 g of distilled water;


  • 5 g of vegetable glycerin.



Oil phase:




  • 10 g of shea butter (in any form);


  • 20 g of coconut oil;


  • 10 g of almond oil;


  • 10 g. Of wax.


  • 1 g. Preservative (any, for example, Germall Plus)


  • 10 drops of essential oil of lavender (or any other, but necessarily safe for the skin).



The total should be 200 g. Lotion.



The process will take 3 phases.



Water phase




  1. Measure out the water with a measuring cup.


  2. Add the glycerin and mix.


  3. Place the measuring cup on a water bath and heat up to 70 degrees Celsius.



Oily phase




  1. Measure out the wax with a measuring glass.


  2. Add shea butter and other oils.


  3. Put the glass in a water bath and heat the same way as the one in which water with glycerin - up to 70 degrees.


  4. Once the contents in both glasses have reached the desired temperature, remove them from the water bath and shake the contents of the beaker thoroughly with a mixer.


  5. Without removing the mixer, pour in a mixture of a glass of oil and wax.


  6. Continue to stir for 3 more minutes.


  7. Allow the mixture to cool to 45 degrees Celsius, and then mix again with a mixer.



Cooling phase




  1. Pour preservative and essential oil.


  2. Stir thoroughly with a mixer.


  3. Leave to cool for half an hour, and then with a funnel pour into a vessel, prepared for lotion.


  4. Wait until the lotion has completely cooled down, reaching room temperature, and can already apply it to the skin.



How to make a thick oil

The thick oil for the body looks like a cream in consistency, although it is even more dense, and differs from lotion in proportions, lack of water and, consequently, in that it is not necessary to add a preservative.



In order to make such an oil, take:




  • 142 g of shea butter;


  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil; / li>


  • 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil;


  • 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin;


  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (or grated root of the arrowroot);


  • 1/4 teaspoon of tocopherol (aka - vitamin E);


  • essential oil of cedar or any other (safe for the skin);



And:




  • heat-resistant measuring cup;


  • mixer;


  • shovel;


  • 1 pharmacy bank (or any sterilized glass jar);


  • pan;


  • fridge;


  • measuring spoons.




  1. Boil the water in the pan (pour it until half).


  2. Put shea butter in a measuring glass.


  3. Put the glass on the water bath and reduce the fire as much as possible. Keep the glass in a saucepan until the oil completely turns into liquid.


  4. Measure out all the liquid oils and pour them into a glass with shea butter. Mix well.


  5. Put the glass with the mixture in the refrigerator and hold there until the top on the mixture begins to form a crust. Usually it takes 10 minutes.


  6. Take out the glass and mix the contents with a mixer.


  7. Continue to stir until the mixture isbecomes opaque and does not thicken. Use the scapula to scrape it off the mixer. The whole process should take about 5 minutes; if it takes more, put the glass in the refrigerator for a while longer.


  8. Gently pour the glycerin, continuing to stir.


  9. Add starch and Vitamain E.


  10. Beat the mixer, refrigerate for 5 minutes, then shake again for 2 minutes. So the oil will become lush.


  11. Add essential oils.


  12. Mix and transfer to a jar. The oil is ready.
