Representatives of this profession can be found in almost any organization and a large company. Drivers can perform various functions, which depend on the specifics of the position. For example, there is drivers-couriers, drivers-forwarders, taxi drivers, driver-guards, truckers and so on.

For drivers, as a rule, there are no age restrictions. The most important thing is that a representative of this profession should have good vision and driving license of the right category. Inspection of the view of drivers is an obligatory procedure, which is part of the planned physical examinations.

To obtain a driver's license, you must to pass training in a driving school, and also to pass examination in GAI. Also there are special courses for advanced training and driving skills. For driving cars and small minibuses, you must have the right category «B», heavy trucks need a category "C", for buses - «D», and for trucks with heavy trailers - category «E».

Quite often the profession of a driver on small firms assumes the presence of own car. In this case, the driver will be paid the so-called amortization of cars.

However, the profession of the driver contains a certain element of romance, which is very rare today. Subculture truckers most developed in Russia, Germany and North America. Representatives of this profession have even professional jargon, for example, truck drivers call a car radio, and deaf-mutes - trucks without walkie-talkies.

As far as wages are concerned, the biggest income for drivers of intercity buses and long distance truck drivers, since in addition to the salary they receive extra money from fellow travelers. The lowest among drivers is earned by the drivers of firms and organizations working on official vehicles.

Finally it is worth saying that the profession of a driver will always be in demand, as long as there is a demand for transportation of people and goods.
