How to make a presentation correctly?

Conducting a presentation as one of the types of public speaking in manycauses a shiver in the knees. And often the wrong presentation will doom even the most effective and profitable idea on the fiasco. How to properly hold a presentation?

To make the presentation successful it is important to take the time to prepare it. Rarely does a good presentation pass, not thought out to the end, when the orator keeps stumbling, confusing, etc. Visual aids, for example, posters with graphics or diagrams or a computer presentation, should be clear and understandable to the audience.

A typical outline of any presentation includes, first, a small (!) Introduction, which explains the purpose of this presentation, the urgency of the problem. The main part of the presentation should be focused on the most important advantages and advantages of the proposed product or idea. At the end of the presentation, it is desirable to briefly summarize what was said, once again highlighting the most important points.

If the presentation is made using the projector or any other equipment, then before startingIt is necessary to thoroughly check the serviceability of all used devices. Very different adversely affect the overall impression of the presentation of various technical problems and discrepancies.

The speaker should not be late for the presentation, it is advisable to come in advance, gather your thoughts, tune in to the right way. The speaker should be prepared for possible audience questions.

Exist several basic rules for a successful presentation.

Desirable do not read the report from the sheet. First, when the presenter's eyes are lowered down,It is difficult for him to establish visual contact with the audience. Secondly, for listeners it remains unclear: should they listen to the speaker or read aloud together with him.

Do not put both hands in your pocket, especially for a long period of time. Hands in pockets - a sign of stiffness, uncertainty, secrecy. If one hand is still in your pocket - do not be scared, but you should be careful that extraneous sounds, like ringing keys, do not distract the audience from the presentation.

The pointer should be used only if necessary, and do not swing it during the entire presentation. Movement pointer distracts the audience.

It is not recommended to lean on the table or chair for a long period of time, otherwise listeners will be focused on catching the moment of the rapporteur's fall, and not at the presentation itself.

When conducting a presentation it is desirable to look at the audience, not on the ceiling or wall posters, for example. The speaker should not clutter himself with visual objects, in no case should he turn his back to the audience.

Speak should be loud, clear, slowso that all present could hear the report. In large audiences, it is recommended to use special sound equipment (microphone, speakers). Monotonous tedious reading of the report causes boredom, therefore the speaker should select the necessary moments in his speech with a tone and tempo of the voice.

The speaker is recommended to pause at the place of the corresponding punctuation marks. A short pause is made on the spot of the comma, the dash is a little longer, the dot is the longest pause.

During the presentation, the speaker maymove around the room. Thus, closer contact with the audience is achieved. However, "flailing" from side to side is not desirable - it is very distracting listeners.

Attention of listeners is difficult to hold for a long time,so the presentation is usually not more than an hour. If it is planned to hold several different presentations, then they can be quite short to "meet" the time schedule.

The presentation must include key words and concepts. They will help the listener to identify the information received in the future.

To the listeners left the presentation with a sense of satisfaction and a sense that time was spent in vain, it is useful to give them a colorful memorya booklet-abstract of a presentation or a DVD with a presentation. This, firstly, is a confirmation of the speaker's words, and, secondly, the guest, leaving not with empty hands, perceives the information received as his own, which significantly increases the chances of success.
