"Doctor's Day" - a film about the series
"Doctor's Day" is intended primarily forfans of the most successful and lasting in the history of mankind's fantastic series "Doctor Who." This picture is a kind of a gift for fans in connection with the anniversary of the series, which this year celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Precisely because those who have never heard ofTo the doctor, the film may seem slightly incomprehensible and it will be difficult to perceive it. For the first acquaintance with the cult fantastic hero, last year's Christmas edition of the series "The Widow and the Wardrobe" is better.
Plot

Perhaps, this is the main drawback of the film"Doctor's Day." No, of course, the plot is exciting and looking very interesting, but the expectations were quite different. After all, thanks to the confusion and unexpected twists and turns in the plot, the show lasted for half a century. According to the idea of the writers in the film, one of the most important and epic events was to be shown, on which the entire series - the War of Time and the Fall of Galifrey - was based.
However, the impression is thatthe creators wanted to fit a maximum of events in a limited time, so everything turned out somehow crumpled and very ambiguous. The narrative passes from epoch to epoch, time and place of action changes, and spectators are in slight shock from the frequency of the change of scenery.
And like we were given answers to the main questions, such as: what happened between the Doctor and Elizabeth I, how the War of Time ended; but they did it in a way that would be better and did not say anything at all. In fact, the movie instead of placing everything in its place, on the contrary, increased the number of inconsistencies in the storyline. On top of all this, it only remains to add that in the film itself there were quite a few minor shortcomings.
Doctor Who?
In contrast to the plot, the actor's play in the film wasjust at the height, all the main characters perfectly coped with the roles, looked very natural and lively. The main character, as it is easy to guess, is the Doctor, who is represented in the film in three copies of the 10th (David Tennant), who recently returned from the Time War, 11th (Matt Smith), already a little forgotten about those terrible events, and the Doctor -Voin (John Hurt), who takes part in it directly.
The meeting of the three incarnations of the main is not something thatone frame, and in one movie it's an event. Despite the fact that all of them, in fact, are the same person (or, more precisely, an alien), each has its own character and habits. In addition, the director and actors were able to really show the difference in age and this despite the fact that the 11th Doctor physically looks much younger than the Doctor-Warrior.
Secondary Characters

In the jubilee issue, twoall the beloved companions of the Doctor: Clara (Jenna Coleman) and Rose Tyler (Billy Piper). These two girls do play a huge role in the life of the Doctor and, although they are related to secondary characters, have a direct impact on developments and decision-making. And, of course, their presence really pleased all the fans of the series.
As for Queen Elizabeth I, her imagelooks unprocessed and not too unnatural. It should also be noted that the most attentive will be able to find in the film one more Doctor, who is already aged, who does not call himself such. If this film were not dedicated to the cult series, the "Doctor's Day" would probably have collected much less positive feedback from viewers and critics.
But since it was filmed by real fanstheir business for their fans, then much can be forgiven. In general, the film turned out to be quite good, and it was an actor's play and a general idea that was drawn out for him, so I recommend all fans of high-quality science fiction to viewing.
