How to use Instagram: Install the application

This application is distributed throughofficial app stores from Apple and Google - the App Store and Google Play (formerly Android Market) respectively. If you have ever used one of these stores, the Instagram installation should not cause you any difficulties, it is similar to installing any other application.

To use Instagram on your device, you mustthe operating system iOS version 3.1.2 (and newer) or Android 2.2 (and newer) must be installed. There is no Instagram version for the computer (unless you mean a tablet computer running Android OS), you can use Instagram only on mobile devices.

However, there are Web services and applications,allowing you to manage your account in Instagram: view the tape, "like" and comment on other people's photos, subscribe to users, view your account statistics. How to register in Instagram?

   To register, when you first start Instagram, click Sign up. In the dialog box that opens, you will need to specify your email address, come up with a username and password.

   In the future, you will use the login andpassword to log into your account in the program (Log in button). An account is needed to share your photos with other Instagram users, and also to integrate with social networks (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

   If desired, you can immediately after registrationimport contacts and find friends from your contact list, Facebook / Twitter account, and also search by usernames and usernames. When finished, click Next. You will be asked to fund some Instagram users (click the Follow button next to the user's name). When finished, click Done.

At the bottom of the application window is the panelwith tabs that are used to control the application. The home icon is the home page, it displays a feed with new photos of the users on which you are subscribed. You can mark a photo you like by clicking Like, and also comment on the photo.

The tab with an asterisk was previously called Popular(the most popular photos in Instagram), since version 2.5 it is called Explore, this tab has been moved to a search string for searching by hashtags.

How to take photos in Instagram?

The tab with the camera (Share) is in the center. You can take a photo directly in the application or select a picture in one of the albums with already finished photos (you need to long press the tab). Please note that the photo will be square, as if it was filmed with a Polaroid camera.

You can apply various filters to photos, for example:

  Normal (No filter) - an ordinary photo;

  X-Pro II - rich warm colors, emphasis on blue and green hues;


• 
  Earlybird - blurred faded colors, emphasis on beige and yellow hues;


• 
  Lomo-fi - slightly blurred vague colors, rich green and yellow;


• 
  Sutro - reminds sepia, emphasis on brown and purple hues;


• 
  Toaster - slightly lighted photo, darkened in corners;


• 
  Brannan - discreet tone, emphasis on green and gray hues;


• 
  Valencia - close to natural contrast, slight predominance of brown and gray shades;


• 
  Walden - a little "faded" colors, light blue;


• 
  Hefe - blurred colors, accent on golden and yellow hues;


• 
  Nashville - grainy photo with a purple-purple hue, the border resembles a filmstrip;


• 
  1977 - photo in the atmosphere of the 70's.

Also there are filters Kelvin, Amaro, Rise and Hudson.

After applying the filter, you will be asked to enter a brief description of the photo (the What? Field), you can also select the location where the photo was made (the Where? Field), if desired.

Then the Sharing window will open. If you want to share a photo in a social network (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Posterous, Tumblr, Foursquare), click on its name. Beforehand, you need to link your Instagram account to accounts in other social networks. When finished, click Done.

The remaining two tabs are News, news feed(comments, "likes"), and integration with Facebook. The last tab appeared after the purchase of Instagram by Mark Zuckerberg. Now you can, in particular, synchronize "Laika" in Instagram and Facebook.
