The history of the Venetian carnival counts notone century - the tradition of once a year to hold a large-scale celebration appeared in Venice around the 10th century, and together with it - the first Venetian carnival masks. In order to make a carnival mask of paper and feathers, we will need:
- A sheet of cardboard, preferably colored (for example, purple or green)
- Sheet of ordinary black paper
- Colored feathers
- Knife for cutting paper
- Glue
- Pencil
How to make a carnival mask with your own hands:
1. Lay the cardboard on a hard flat surface, placing a sheet of thick black paper under a sheet of cardboard.
2. From your hand draw the desired contours of the mask with your pencil, not forgetting the holes for the eyes. Circle the resulting outline with a marker.
3. Cut out the eye holes with a paper cutter (press the blade harder to cut both the sheet of cardboard and a piece of paper underneath it).
4. As a result, you should get two blanks of a carnival mask - one of the colored cardboard, the second of black paper. Apply glue around the perimeter of the paper mask blank, not forgetting the contours of the eye holes, and glue the cardboard blank onto the paper blank that is greased with glue.
5. The final step: apply the colored surface of the mask with glue and decorate it with feathers (the arrangement of feathers can be any).
To the resulting carnival mask, you can attach a regular elastic band to wear it on your head, or a plastic straw wrapped in black paper - to wear a mask in your hands.
