Do not confuse this holiday with World Architect Day, which is celebrated on the first Monday of July. After all, until 1996, these two holidays were celebrated inone day. And only in 1996 at the 20th General Assembly in Barcelona it was decided to separate them. Therefore, World Architecture Day is now celebrated on the first Monday of October.

It is noteworthy that there is another holiday, which is closely connected with the Day of Architecture. It is also celebrated on the first Monday of October - this World day of dwelling. In 1985, the UN General Assembly establishedthis day in order to provide the poor people of the world with housing not later than by 2000. The dwelling day is called upon to pay attention to problems of housing and living conditions of the poor. After all, all residents of cities, regardless of their age, sex or financial status are entitled to decent housing.

It is to the World Day of Dwelling and the World Day of Architecture is timed. Traditionally on this day all over the world, architectsgather at a conference where they discuss the results of their work, problems of architectural education and conduct creative discussions. Also on this day, arrange architectural exhibitions, the theme of which varies from year to year.
