The Syrian hamster is the only species of its kind and refers to medium hamsters. The size of Syrian hamsters are similar to domestic guinea pigs. For the peculiar color of the wool of Syrian hamsters are often called golden.
Syrian hamsters are characterized by three varieties: long-haired, short-haired, hairless. The long-haired Syrian hamsters shouldregularly combing with a special comb like a cat's. Syrian hamsters are the least, in comparison with the rest of the breeds of hamsters, susceptible to various diseases.
Contain a Syrian hamster should be in a cage or an aquarium with a minimum size of 50x30 cm. Syrian hamsters live on average 2-2.5 years, but can with good care live up to 4 years.
Campbell's hamsters, like the Dzhungar hamsters, refer to dwarf hamsters. The animals of this breed of hamsters are not very friendlyin relation to the owners and much more like to be alone. Externally, Campbell's hamsters look like jungariks, but the shade of their wool is more yellow, and the strip on the back is barely noticeable.
The conditions for keeping Campbell's hamsters are similar to those for Dzhungar hamsters. Representatives of this breed of hamsters live up to 2 years.
Hamsters Roborovsky - the smallest of the rocks in questionhamsters. These hamsters are distinguished by mobility and greater sociability in comparison with other breeds. Hamsters Roborovskogo can even contain couples and groups - they will not fight each other.
