Mrs. Magyou had an assistant - another breeder-enthusiast from Canada, whom they were looking for in the nurseries of long-haired Abyssinian kittens. It was these two people who named the new cat breed "Somali". Already in 1972 they created the first club of these cats, and in 1978 the Somali breed was officially recognized in the United States.

At the moment a cat of Somalia is a very famous breed, but there are not many representatives of these animals in Russia and the CIS countries. Yes, there are kennels in which you can buy kittens from a Somali cat, but these animals can not be seen in any apartment, such as the Persians.
