How to make unusual candles from beeswax with your own hands
Cute "edible" candles made from naturalbees wax will be the decoration of any dinner or dinner - mouth-watering sushi rolls and homemade jam in jars will not leave anyone indifferent. Make them yourself, guided by this master class.
Candles made of beeswax in the form of sushi rolls
To make them, you will need:
- colored plates of beeswax (white, yellow, light pink, dark pink, green, red);
- measuring tape;
- knife;
- wick;
- hair dryer
Candles will be in the form of rolls "California" and rolls with tuna.
To make "California":
Step 1. Crab meat
The first ingredient is "California". To make it an imitation, cut it with a knife into thin vertical strips of a wax band 2.5 cm long (4 light pink and 1 dark pink).
Then smash them with your fingers and blot 4 cylinders.
Step 2. Avocado (or cucumber)
The second ingredient. Take 4 white strips of wax and 4 green, also 2.5 cm wide each.
Handle the wax dryer at maximum heat to make it softer, and roll the strips tightly.
Cut the received cylinders in half, connectthem together so that one half turns white and the other half green. These elements should be teardrop shaped - change it with your fingers, if necessary, again use a hairdryer.
Step 3. Rice and algae
Take four white and green strips of wax.
Combine the "crab meat" and "avocado" together (remember about the hair dryer), between them do not forget to put a piece of the wick - it should stick out at least 2 cm.
Wrap them first in a green strip of wax, and then in white, fixing the beginning of the white right under the end of the green. This place needs to be treated with a hairdryer so that the candle does not unwind.
"California" is ready.
To make rolls with tuna:
These are very simple rolls - in the original they consist of a piece of tuna, rice and seaweed. Take the red, white and green strips of wax.
- first tightly roll the red strip, wrapped in her wick;
- then wrap it white;
- then more freely wrap it in green, cutting off excess, so that it is enough for only one layer of wax of this color.
Help yourself with a hair dryer if the wax will decay.
Now trim a little wick and put the candlesin a rectangular plate-stand. Very well they look in the stand for real sushi and rolls, but in this case take it from the ceramic - putting burning candles on a wooden surface can be dangerous.
Candles made of melted beeswax in cans
These candles are like jam or honey in jars. In order to make them, you will need:
- 680 g. Beeswax (processed);
- 140 g of coconut oil;
- 50 cm of cotton wick;
- weight for the wick (optional, but it is convenient - keeps the wick in one place when the candle goes to the bottom);
- jars for candles (if you take them for 340 g. each, as here, then the material will suffice for 4 cans);
- thermometer and 4 pencils, scissors.
Step 1. Prepare the wick
Tie the wick to the pencils that you want to put on the top of the can. The length of the wick must be 2.5 cm longer than the height of the can. If you want, you can tie a weight to the other end.
Step 2. Mix the wax
Melt the wax with coconut oil, mix thoroughly.
Step 3. Pour
Pour the wax into each jar, holding a pencil, and cut off the excess wick after that.
Step 4. Leave it to ice
In order to freeze well, the candles of thissize needed about 1 day. When this day is over, gently use the scissors to pull out the end of the wick drowned in the wax - it will be covered with a wax layer, which makes the first ignition much easier.
Done.
