School of repair: how to lay parquet, video

Despite the great variety of flooringcoatings on the market today, parquet does not lose its relevance and is used both in administrative buildings and in private houses and apartments. This is due, first of all, to the attractiveness of this material from an aesthetic point of view, as well as its durability and ease of operation.

Perhaps the main drawback of parquet isthe complexity of its original styling, which scares off many potential buyers. However, laying parquet with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance, especially if you consider that you can now buy or rent all the necessary tools for carrying out work.

How to lay parquet

Parquet and all materials (in particular, the substrate)for its styling is best to buy in advance. After the purchase and delivery of materials to the place of future work, they must be removed from the packaging and left for a week in a room with conditions similar to those in which the coating will be used.

This is necessary in order for the boards to be slightlyhave dried up (as all wood products in our country "do not dry") and are "used" to future operational conditions. The next step is to prepare the foundation on which we will lay the floor covering. To do this, we need to level the floor with a cement-sand screed or self-leveling mixtures.

In order not to pour the neighbors, before doingtie, on the floor should be placed waterproofing material. Further, the frozen screed is primed and spread on it with plywood, particle board or OSB using special glue, as well as screws with dowels (nails "quick installation"). Before fixing, it is better to cut the sheets into squares with a side from 40 to 70 centimeters.

Also, when the substrate is laid between individualsheets should leave clearances with a width of up to 5 millimeters and an offset from the wall of 1 centimeter. After the completion of all work should be a break for a couple of days, so that the substrate "lay down". Now let's talk about how to properly lay the parquet and how to strengthen it.

For high-quality adhesion of individual dies withthe substrate is best used with special parquet glue, as well as studs, with which individual elements of the coating will be attached to the base along the edge. There are a lot of ways of laying a parquet: a deck, a fur-tree, squares, zigzags and so on, at desire they can be combined.

However, for all species there are several commonmoments that need to be remembered. First, from walls it is necessary to leave a backlash in width in 0,5-1 centimeter which then will be covered with a plinth. Secondly, if the pattern involves placing the plates parallel to the walls, the laying starts from the far corner of the room with an offset in each row, with diagonal patterns - we start from the center of the room.

Thirdly, for a tight fit of the plates, eacha friend should be beaten with a kayak or a hammer (so as not to damage the wood, strikes are best applied through the "tutor"). After the completion of the work, again, make a break for a week, so that the glue is well seized, and the dies themselves "lay down".

Above we figured out how to lay a parquetindependently, but our coverage is not yet ready for operation: there are small differences in height, some dies a little deformed and become dirty during the laying process. In this regard, it is necessary to further polish the coating - this is done with the help of special equipment that can be rented. Also, to eliminate the microcracks that have formed, while the coating has dried, it should be thoroughly plugged with a special liquid. Now it remains to wait until the parquet dries and cover it with varnish.
