How to hang a chandelier

The process of installing any luminaires consists of two parts: fastening and connecting electricity. In this article, how to hang a chandelier and correctly connect the necessary wires to it.
Today, you can find a wide variety of lighting fixtures on the market, which are connected directly to the electrical network and switched on using a separate switch. But, regardless of the design, the principle of their installation is one. All that is necessary for this is compliance with safety rules and a certain sequence of actions.
It should be noted at once that chandeliers are hung on a special hook, which comes out of the ceiling. This stage should not be of particular complexity, so we need to talk more about connecting to electricity.
At first pay attention to the switch. When connecting it, note that three wires must go to the switch. One of them is phase and comes from the transfer case. As for the other two, they go to the ceiling to the chandelier. Usually wire phase is brown, blue wire is zero, and yellow is ground. To properly hang a chandelier, you need to consider that the switch can not be zero, and its wire goes to the ceiling in the desoldering box.
Three wires must be distributed across the switch terminals and thus connect it. Next, leave the switch on, that is, set the toggle switches to the position "ON". This is necessary in order that it is easy toIdentify the phases on the wires that come out of the ceiling. It should be noted that many often skip this point, and as a result there is no possibility to use a screwdriver-indicator. However, if you have voltmeter, it is much better to use it to determine the phases, since working with voltage is very dangerous.
After we have found out the phases (among the wires on the ceiling there must be two, and the third wire is zero), we pass directly to the luminaire. From the chandelier, three wires must also go out: blue, yellow and brown. Blue and brown wires are a pair from eachbulbs on the chandelier, and all the ends of these wires are connected in one, that is, blue forms a blue wire, and brown - brown. The yellow wire is grounded.
To hang a chandelier, also it is necessary to consider the type of switch used. If he has one key and you want toone click lighted up all the bulbs (one phase), you need to connect the brown wire to the phase on the ceiling, and the blue wire to zero. As for the third yellow wire, it should be connected to the hook on which the chandelier is hung.
If you decide to install double-switch and want, that by pressing oneone part of the light bulbs lit up, and the second one - the other part, the blue wires need to be disconnected. For example, if you have a chandelier with four lights, this wire should be broken in pairs and connected in pairs, leaving the brown one, and the yellow one connected to the hub. Therefore, the blue wires are connected to the phases, and the brown wires to zero.
Finally it is worth noting that wires must be insulated very carefully and in no case need to regret the insulation tape. Thus, you will protect yourself and everyone who lives in the apartment, from unnecessary problems with electricity.
In the event that you are not sure that you can properly hang the chandelier and connect it, we recommend that you contact a professional electrician, since working with electricity requires certain knowledge and experience.
