Installing the water filter

Today there are almost no apartments left that would not have been produced installation of water filter. The thing is that the water that did not passcertain cleaning, is harmful not only for the person, but also for various sanitary devices. As a result, water heaters, washing machines and dishwashers, mixers, as well as stop valves suffer.
Water in the faucet contains a large number of chemical and organic substances due to contamination and deterioration of equipment in water treatment plants. Hence there is a need to use water filters, which are on sale quite a lot: special nozzles for the crane, which have a minimum degree of purification, also there are stationary models and so-called reverse osmosis systems, which are considered the most reliable type of filters.
As for the types of filters themselves, they happen three types: coal (sorption), mechanical and membrane (reverse osmosis).
The installation of a water filter can solve a lot of problems, which are associated with the use of household appliancesand cooking. It is worth noting that the installation procedure itself can be well saved, since it does not require any specific knowledge and is not particularly difficult.
The most common type of filters are considered mechanical. They are usually used inmultistage systems for water treatment. Such filters effectively protect the water from rust, sand, dirt, silt and even oxidized iron. However, it is worth noting that the water that has passed through the mechanical filter is still unsuitable for drinking, since it is cleared only of large particles.
Installation of a water filter of this type should take place on the pipe at a height of not less than 40 centimeters from the floor. This is intended to ensure that replacing the cartridge there were no difficulties. To install a mechanical filter on the pipe, a segment is marked, which is separated with a hacksaw. After this, a thread of the required diameter is made and a so-called lock nut and a coupling on which the filter itself is mounted using sealing materials are installed on this section. It is also worth noting that special plastic fittings are usually used for plastic pipe fittings. In the event that the place for installing the filter for some reason does not allow you to comply with all the rules, it is acceptable to use flexible hoses.
Concerning stationary filtersthey are installed next to the sink andconnected to cold water. Such a filter allows to purify water not only from mechanical particles, but also from organochlorine compounds, as well as petrochemical products. Installation of such a system is carried out directly near the point of water consumption. Using a special tee, a ball valve cuts into the pipe near the point where the water pipe enters the filter. In addition, if necessary, a separate tap from the filter for drinking water can be removed to the surface of the sink.
The last type of filters - membrane, which is also called reverse osmosis system. This filter is able to turn even salt water into a drinking water. The structure of such a system includes:
- special membrane;
- a number of cartridges;
- storage tank;
- crane;
- various connecting equipment.
Installing a water filter of this typeis carried out under the sink. Using a ball valve and flexible hoses, the system cuts into the cold water supply pipes. Also, it can be connected to the drain by means of a drainage sleeve for the removal of dirty recycled water.
To install the filter, in addition to a set of hoses and connecting fittings, you will need screws, nuts, as well as a wrench and a screwdriver. Also, before you perform this procedure, you must turn off the cold water supply, and the filter itself must be attached to the wall after installation.
Finally, it should be said that if you do not have special tools and sufficient experience for such installation, we recommend that you seek assistance from qualified personnel.
