How to make an original pencil case yourself? In this step-by-step master class with a photo you will see that it takes only five steps.

You will need:

- cut canvas (18 x 7 cm);

- three different colored cuts of the same fabric - you can take any, for example, linen:

  the first of them - 18 x 4.8 cm;


• 
  the second - 17 x 5 cm;


• 
  the third - 17 x 5.8 cm;

- lining fabric - 17 x 18, 5 cm (if the lining is not always visible, it still does not mean that it should be boring-one-color, a good thing is beautiful from all sides);

- a piece of batting 17 x 18.5 cm;

- fastener at least 17 cm long;

- Measuring tape;

- safety pins;

- sewing machine.

Ready pencil case, as in the photo, according to this instructionshould be a size of 9 x 17 cm. Please read the entire manual carefully before starting to cut. Even a children's pencil case can not be sewn by hand without careful measurements.

So, we begin to sew independently a school pencil case for pens, pencils and other office.

1. First we create the outer part - this is the most creative moment. Lay out the colored pieces of fabric and canvas next to each other - that's how your pencil case will look from the outside (see photo). Then sew along all the pieces with an open seam.

2. Place a piece of cloth for the lining next to it. In size, the sewn fabric of the "outer" side must match exactly with the lining. Combine them and fasten them with pins, and then sew on one side.

3. Turn the sewed fabric upside down and attach the zipper so that the lock is on the right, and the zipper itself was completely hidden by the cloth (see photo). Strips on the fabric should be perpendicular to the lightning. Fasten with pins, and then sew on the machine through all three resulting layers (fabric, lining, zipper - on its "right" side, when viewed from the lock).

4. "Divide" the fabric into the lining and the outer part. Fold each of them so that the free edge touches the other, unshielded edge of the lightning - respectively, from both sides. Fasten with pins, and then sew on the machine (again, all three layers). You should get an open cylinder made of cloth with a zipper.

5. Open the zipper and turn your pencil case outward. Put it so that to the right and left of the zipper there was the same amount of fabric, pin the open ends of this "cylinder" with pins. Overlock or zigzag on the machine, be sure to flash and tape lightning.

Trim off excess lightning if there is oneend, that without a lock; on this side, if you did everything right, and there should be an extra piece of tape - in that case, of course, if it was originally longer than 17 cm).

Since the pencil case is sewn from a fabric without anyskeleton, it is flat and takes exactly as much space as occupied by things lying in it. But it can be quite capacious. The ideal thing for a school backpack!
