Hearts in Atlantis
Eleven-year-old boy Bobby Garfield lives in a small town in Connecticut withhis mother, Liz Garfield - a selfish lonely widow. One day she decides to rent one of the rooms in their house. A lonely elderly man named Ted Brotigan.
Quite quickly, Ted finds a common language with Bobby, andthey become friends. Ted even offers the boy to perform a rather strange job for a reward: read the newspapers to him and see if the strange little town appeared on the streets of their small town people dressed in black raincoats. But Bobby's mom from their friendship is absolutely not delighted.
Over time, Bobby learns that Ted has unusual abilities - he is clairvoyant. And strange people in black cloaks, which are behind himhunt are FBI agents. They want to use Ted's abilities for his own purposes. What should Ted do? And is eleven-year-old boy Bobby able to somehow help him in this difficult situation? ..
Film "Hearts in Atlantis" This is a film adaptation of Stephen King's short story "Lowpeople in yellow cloaks, "the first part of a cycle of five novels." In fact, "Hearts in Atlantis" is the second story from the cycle, which gave the name to the whole cycle and the film.

In addition to the story "Low Men in Yellow Cloaks",screenwriter William Goldman adapted for the movie two more works by Stephen King: according to his scripts films "Misery" (thriller of 1990) and "Dream catcher" (a fantastic horror drama of 2003) were made.
Initially, the role of Bobby Garfield was to playactor Jeremy Sumpter, who later became famous for his lead role in the movie "Peter Pan," directed by PJ Joy Hogan, but eventually she went to Anton Yelchin.
The film's cameraman Pyotr Sobochinsky died shortly after the premiere of the painting from a massive heart attack at the age of 43. The film is dedicated to his memory.
