How to install the scanner

Today the production of such devices is being handled by a huge number of companies from Southeast Asia, the USA and Japan. Most scanner models, as a rule, compatible with Microsoft Windows operating system.

It should be noted that you can install the scanner in two ways: connect the device directly to the computer or to the server, thanks to which the scanner will useseveral users at once. The latter method is most often used in offices where it is not necessary to equip each workstation with such a device and it is much more profitable to buy one scanner for several employees.

First, we'll look at how to install the scanner on a personal computer or laptop. It will take the most ordinary USB cable, which, as a rule, is included in the kitsupply device. However, if the package does not include it, then such a cable can be bought absolutely in any computer equipment store. One end of the USB cable will need to be connected to a special scanner connector located on the back of the device, and the other end to the corresponding connector on the computer. Now you can turn on the scanner. You may need to wait a few seconds for the operating system to detect it automatically.

If Windows can not determine a new device, it will take install drivers. Disk with necessary softwareusually shipped with the scanner. However, if it does not exist, you will need to go to the official website of the manufacturer, where the drivers of all released models are available for free download in a special section. After downloading, install the driver on the computer or laptop and try to reconnect the device.

Now on this computer, enter the menu "Start" and select "Control Panel", where click on the item "Net". You will see a menu in which to select "Network and Sharing Center". After that, the list of commands from which you need to select "View networked computers and devices". Next, a special window will appear on the screen, where you must select the desired device model from the list of scanners.

In the next dialog box that appears, click the button "Install", after which the Installation Wizard will automatically start. Follow the instructions carefully, and at the end of the installation, click on the button «Done». Now the scanner is connected, and you can use it by sending data over the local network.

As you could see to install the scanner and connect it to a computer or server, you do not need any additional knowledge and skills. Enough is enough follow a specific course of action, including taking care of the availability of necessary software for the correct operation of the new device.

Finally, it is only necessary to pay attention to the fact that some scanners can connect not to a USB port, but to so-called LPT or SCSI ports, for which you need cords with a special connector.
