Tlog: blog - notebook

Tlog is an abbreviation for the English word tumblelog. The names "tamblologist" and "tamblelog" in Russianlanguage got accustomed to worse, they are too inconvenient to pronounce and write, and a short and capacious word tgl users liked. Sometimes tails are called mini-blogs.

What is the difference between a blog and a regular blog? In a blog, one record can contain text, videos, pictures, links, etc. In the tgl, each entry has only one definite format from the possible ones. There are such basic formats of entries in the:

  text - The usual text entry, traditional for blogging (its size can be limited);
• 
  quote - you can quote someone by indicating the source, the quotation will be made in a manner different from the usual author's post;
• 
  a photo - an image downloaded from your computer or by a link on the network;
• 
  link - link or set of links;
• 
  conversation - a fragment of the log from the chat or messenger, where the nicknames and replicas of the interlocutors are highlighted accordingly;
• 
  video - video from one of the video hosting.

Usually each record format has its own special type of designso that a record of one type or another can beimmediately identify. Of course, pictures and videos are hard to confuse with something else, but the author's post, quotation or conversation is elementary, if they are not properly decorated.

Besides, tlog is less focused on communication than a regular blog. You can subscribe to updates inyou are interested in logos, but not all tlog services have the ability to comment, and where it is, by default comments are closed. Tlog is like a set of notes and drafts; you do them primarily for yourself, and if they liked someone else - well, good.

On the Russian tlog-service mmm-tasty, for example, even you can not see how many people signed up to you. Developers at the same time joke that vanity -sin, so it's useless to be interested in the number of subscribers. But at the same time, there is the possibility of managing privacy: you can close your tgl from users who are not registered in the system, or make a list of users who will have access to your tglog. Finally, you can close individual records from all but yourself.

Making a tv is usually extremely simple, almost ascetic. You can choose the design from the offered to youor independently adjust the color design, but do not expect any "fintiful" or designer delights. Often the width of the block with content in the logs is rather narrow, about 420 pixels.

Where can I start my tvog? The first massive tgl-service, which is now the most popular, is Tumblr. It is available in eight languages, includingRussian. Among other things, Tumblr supports postponed posting (you save messages, and they are published automatically after a certain time interval), automatic posting of messages from a tg in other social networks (for example, Facebook and Twitter) and posting from a mobile phone. The first Russian tlog service is mmm-tasty, already mentioned in this article. And in Ukraine, the first service for maintaining blogs has the name Summer-breath.

There are special engines for tgl-services, written mostly in PHP or Ruby. Popular engines for TGS include, for example, Gelato, Ozimodo, Nanograbbr and Chyrp. However, you can use for blogging and regular blog-platforms, such as WordPress.

Tlog is a blog for individualists, seeking maximum freedom of expression, but not ready to devote too much time to blogging.
