Butterfly from beads
Multicolored butterfly beads can become an original decoration. They can be used as a brooch, glued to the rim for hair or sewed to a bag. How to weave a butterfly from beads? Read in the Land of Soviets!
We offer you butterfly pattern of beads, developed by Maria Fedotova and Galina Valyh. They offer to weave a purple-green butterfly, but you can use any colors of beads that you will like.
For weaving butterflies from beads we will need:
5 g of purple felling
7 g of green cabin
3 g of purple beads (No. 8)
1 g black beads (№ 10)
2 oval lilac beads 8-9 mm in length
2 oval lilac beads 12 mm long
wire
Cutting with an oblique cut and oval beads of lilac color give wings a butterfly special brilliance due to the refraction of light.
We begin the weaving of a butterfly from one of the upper wings. We take two wires (length - 50-60 cm) andwe weave on one of the wires four rows of the right part of the upper wing from the purple felling. Then we put a second wire between the first and second rows and weave three rows of the left part of the upper wing. Then we string one of the lilac beads 8-9 mm long by two wires, which are located in the center of the wing. After that, we pass under the wire between the base of the purple bead and the last row from the felling area with each of the ends of the wire (the left figure, the upper diagram). Slightly tighten the wire so that there is a small gap between the bead and the wire that covers it from the outside.
Then weave the series according to the schemes (left drawing, middle and bottom diagram; rightfigure, top view). Having finished each row, we conduct the ends of the wires between the bead and the wire enveloping it, which are directed towards the bead (inside the wing). After completing three rows of beams and beads in the height of the bead, we continue to weave each part of the wing separately. First, one part, and then the second, linking it with the first in the process of weaving (after the execution of each row).
The lower wing of the plait by the same principle, but using a 12 mm long bead and twowire length of 45-50 cm. Then, using one of the wires in the base of the wings, connect the upper and lower wing, weaving the wire between the rows of beads, then the upper and lower wing. Wings connect at an altitude of 7-8 rows. The remaining tip of the wire is braided between rows of beads of one of the wings and cut off. The second pair of wings of the plait is exactly the same.
Note! These schemes are designed for beads and felling of specific sizes, so if you want to use materialsanother size, you need to understand the very principle of braiding beads, and then calculate the number of rows that will be located along the height of the bead yourself.
Then Patch the trunk of a butterfly (see the diagram). It spins from a matte bead of black color on a wire 20 cm long. We begin to weave from the lower part of the trunk, performing it in the technique of parallel weaving until the penultimate row.
To make butterfly eyes, we collect one end of the wire onepurple and one black bead, and on the second - one purple bead. We draw the ends of the wire towards each other through a black bead. We bend each wire 5-20 mm from the base and twist the antennae. At the end of each antenna, you can place a small black or brown bead. The wires under the antennae are not cut, but we twist each other by 5 mm and hold it under the trunk.
Then proceed to assembling our butterfly. To do this, insert the wires of the wings betweenrows of beads along the sides of the trunk and bring them under the trunk. We divide the wires of the wings into two parts, we attach wires to them from the antennae and twist it. Butterfly is ready!
