How to correctly indicate citizenship in the questionnaire

Moreover, our country has many titles: Russia, the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation, and the nationality can be both Russian and Russian. So, how to correctly specify citizenship in the questionnaire? We will talk about this, giving specific examples and referring to the law.
Correctly we write citizenship in the questionnaire
In many questionnaires, there is often a graph,which is as follows: "... citizenship ___________". Do not confuse, please, with the column: "... nationality __________". These are different things, you can be a Gentile, and a Moldovan, but have the citizenship of Russia or Ukraine. Therefore, specify the name of the country. In nationality, respectively, your roots.
What to write in the column "citizenship" according to the law
According to the Law of the Russian Federation "On Citizenship", in the column"Citizenship", it is most correct to write the Russian Federation, but you can also abbreviated "RF". If the questionnaire for further employment or obtaining the status of civil servant, is not considered a mistake and simply - "Russia".
Be sure to look at the general style. Sometimes, "citizenship" is inserted in any long sentence and according to the context, the "Russian" or "Russian woman" approaches.
Example 1: "I'm __________ (Name), I am a citizen by __________ ...". In this case, suitable for "Russian" or "Russian".
Example 2: "Citizen __________, Full Name __________ ...".
The meaning is clear that it means belonging to the country, so the RF, Russia or the Russian Federation is suitable, which is the most correct.
How to indicate citizenship in the application form for a tourist visa or permanent residence
In the case of a visa to visit another stateor leaving for permanent residence - all a bit more complicated. First of all, due to the fact that everything will be in English (as a rule) and the line can have the following form: "Citizenship_________". Under the word "citizenship" in English, citizenship is understood. Hence, we indicate the country of which you are a subject. In our case this is RussianFederation, Russia or, for Ukrainians - Ukraine. Avoid abbreviated names, questions may arise. The line with the need to communicate the nationality looks like this: "Nationality________". Please do not confuse these two words. In a certain context, "ethnicity" can mean "citizenship", but in the questionnaires, usually these concepts are shared, so we do not specify the country, but the characteristic: "Russian" or "Ukrainian".
In some languages there is no verbal division of these concepts and they are denoted by one word. If you have such a case, then write the name of the state boldly, do not go wrong.
There are exceptions. For example, when you get an entry visa for permanent residence in Israel, you must additionally indicate your roots, because according to the law "On Return", only the Jew or members of his family can receive the coveted passport of a citizen of that country.
What to do if you are completely confused
It happens, there is nothing to worry about. In each foreign embassy in Russia or Ukraine there is an employee who speaks Russian well and he will most likely be a resident of your country and have a good command of the language. Contact any representative of the embassy and ask that you help in completing the questionnaire or give a similar copy in Russian. Most likely, you will go to a meeting.
Many forget that the notion of "nationality" and"Citizenship" in the questionnaire, in official documents, carry a completely different meaning. As mentioned earlier in the article, you can be Russian by nationality, but by a citizen of Ukraine, or vice versa.
