Species of decorative rabbitsDecorative rabbits are cute and funny pets. Many believe that the "decorative rabbit" is a separate breed of rabbits. In fact, decorative rabbits are divided into several different breeds. What are the most popular breeds of ornamental rabbits?

One of the most common breeds is short-haired dwarf rabbit. By constitution this breed is similar to the usualwild rabbits, only here the size of this breed of decorative rabbits is smaller. Such rabbits weigh not more than one and a half kilograms, and the length of their ears should not be more than 5.5 cm. Short-haired dwarf rabbits can boast an impressive variety of colors, there are about 60 of them. Very unusual snow-white rabbits with a neat black spot around eyes (without interruptions and protrusions). But you can choose more "habitual" rabbit, for example, gray or brown.

Dutch dwarf rabbits just like their big relatives. This breed of ornamental rabbits is colored by the color of the back of the body and ears, around the eyes - colored circles, and all other parts of the rabbit's body (including "socks" on the hind legs) are white. The most common colors are "marks" from Dutch dwarf rabbits - black, brown, light gray, lilac, blue.

Very funny look Angora dwarf rabbits. By appearance they most closely resemble fluffylumps of fur, in which it is difficult to discern the muzzle and ears. Fur in Angora rabbits is shorter on the head, and longer on the entire body. Angora rabbits are two kinds of fur. Very fluffy and soft real angora furto the touch is very similar to cotton wool. For such a fur you need to carefully look after. You will have to regularly comb the hair of your pet, and if the fur falls down - ruthlessly cut it. If you do not have enough time or patience for such thorough care, you can purchase an Angora rabbit with a different type of fur. This fur is shorter (its length is 3-5 cm), smooth and shiny. He does not get so entangled, so it will be easier to care for such a rabbit than for his fluffy fellow.

Have fox dwarf rabbits long hair all over the body, and the head is smooth. In contrast to Angora dwarf rabbits, long hair does not consist of feathers, but of hairs, strong and thick. Therefore, if Angora rabbits stick out their wool in all directions, making a fluffy "ball" out of a rabbit, then it hangs in fox rabbits like a long cloak. The hair length of fox rabbits is from 3.5 to 7 cm. The rabbit itself is small, its weight is not more than 1.5 kg.

"Lion" breeds of decorative rabbits - angora lion and lion head - look quite peculiar, but very nice. Have angora lion very long hair all over the body (with the exception of not even the ears) and sometimes closes the eyes, preventing the rabbit from seeing. In such cases, it must be carefully cut with scissors. Rabbit breed lion's head and really like a miniature lion - his headcovered with long hair, resembling a mane, and on the rest of the body the hair is short (long coat on the sides is possible). Despite its length, the mane of these rabbits practically does not fall down, and it is easier to care for their wool than for the fur of the Angorians.

Very funny look lop-eared rabbit-sheep with hanging ears. There are different breeds of decorative rabbits with hanging ears, but the most popular of these is Dutch dwarf lop-eared rabbit. Rabbits-sheep are very calm, friendly, frightening and tame, quickly get used to the owner. They are slightly larger than other decorative rabbits (they can weigh up to 3 kg), their hair is thick, but care for it is quite simple. Colors can be very different.

Two more popular breeds of ornamental rabbits are a dwarf hare and a firefly. Have dwarf red eyes, white body color and dark paws, tail, ears and face (the color of the spots can be brown, black or blue, the most common are black hairs with black marks). Fire have a brown, blue or black color with distinctly prominent circles under the eyes, nostrils, wedge of the occiput, chest and abdomen, framing the ear.

Of course, the breeds of ornamental rabbits exist much more, we listed only the most common. Now you can choose a decorative rabbit the breed that you like most.
