How to carve a pumpkin for Halloween
On the eve of All Saints Day in America and a number of othercountries celebrate Halloween. Attributes of this holiday were witches, sweets begged by children dressed in scary heroes, and a pumpkin head, which will be discussed in our article. From the pumpkin, remove all the insides, then cut out the terrible muzzle and insert a candle inside. So, what does the head of a pumpkin mean? In one of the variants it symbolizes an evil spirit, which is repelled by the candle fire. The second option means the end of the harvest. Often a pumpkin head is called "Jack's lamp". Legend has it that the devil decided to take his soul from a farmer whose name was Jack. Thus, the poor man could not go to heaven after death. So Jack remained on the ground with a pumpkin instead of a head. Halloween is now taking root in Russia. And so, for those who want to plunge into the culture of this terrible holiday, we suggest to make a pumpkin with their own hands.
What we need:
- tablespoon
- kitchen knives
- marker or marker
- candle
- ripe large and beautiful pumpkin
- good mood and positive attitude
Cut the Pumpkin
- First you need to make a hole in the pumpkin. Draw a small circle on the top of the fetus with the marker, as shown in the figure.
- Now cut the circle around the contour with a sharp knife.
- Carefully remove the cut piece. Remove excess pulp, fibers and seeds. You can do it with your hands or use a shovel. With a tablespoon scrape off any leftovers.
- Well, now the fun begins. We will make a mug of the pumpkin. Here begins the flight of your imagination. You can create a terrible grimace or a funny face. Make a sketch on paper. If you doubt your talents as an artist, look for pictures on the Internet. Take a marker or marker and "transfer" the sketch to the pumpkin.
- Paint in black the places that you will cut out.
- Now take the kitchen knife, press its tip and carefully cut out the contour.
- To finish the pumpkin head, insert a lit candle inside. Close the cover and turn off the light. So our work is ready
