Cocktail "Cosmopolitan"

The creator of the cocktail "Cosmopolitan" is considered Cheryl Cook. Initially, the cocktail included vodkaAbsolut Citron with lemon flavor, Triple Sec liquor with orange flavor, Rose's lemon juice and a little cranberry juice for pink coloring.

Later Toby Cizzini modernized Cook's recipe. He replaced Triple-sec for another orange liqueur - Cointreau, and lemon juice - for freshly squeezed lime juice. The International Association of Bartenders has recognized this recipe as the standard for the preparation of the Cosmopolitan cocktail.

Cocktail "Cosmopolitan"

To prepare a cocktail "Cosmopolitan", you will need:

• 
  lemon vodka - 2 parts
• 
  Cointreau liqueur - Part 1
• 
  cranberry juice - 1 part
• 
  freshly squeezed lime

Mix all the ingredients, pour into a martini glass and decorate the glass with a twist of lemon or orange peel (or a slice of lemon or lime).

Variations of the cocktail "Cosmopolitan":

• 
  Blue Cosmopolitan: instead of red cranberry juice, white is used, and instead of Cointreau liqueur Blue Curacao (Blue Curacao).
• 
  Cosmocello: instead of lime juice, Limoncello liqueur is used.
• 
  Peach Cosmopolitan: instead of the Cointreau liquor, peach schnapps are used, and instead of cranberry juice - peach.
