How to make furniture from chipboard with your own hands
Laminated chipboard literally right afterappearance in building supermarkets has gained immense popularity, since it allows to make furniture no worse than that offered by medium-hand furniture stores. Which is not surprising, because if you order the production of furniture in the cabin without assembly, then you simply bring a set of chopped boards of laminated chipboard and fasteners to them. Many are afraid to collect furniture on their own, and so try to do it, but there is nothing complicated in this.
Making furniture yourself: where to start?
Of course, it is necessary to begin with the project of the futureproducts. It does not matter what you plan to assemble: a table, a cabinet or a whole wardrobe - you can not do without a project. If you have good spatial and abstract thinking, you can draw your future table with just a pencil on paper. If you want more naturalism and look in 3D, then you can use special programs for designing cabinet furniture, for example, Pro100, K3-Furniture and others.
How to cut chipboard for cabinet furniture
After our project is ready, go toshop behind laminated chipboard and all necessary fittings. Also, you should be concerned in advance with the purchase of decorative elements for future furniture (mirrors, glass, etc.). We strongly advise in the same place where you will buy chipboard, ask about the possibility of cutting and banding on the spot - this will significantly save time and nerves. If you decide to cut the cooker yourself, then before you start work, you should consider several points:
• It is better to apply a pattern on a sheet in advance, so as not to be mistaken in size
• Particleboard should be cut with a fine-toothed saw at an acute angle
• When cutting with an electric tool, adjust the pressure and power so that no breaks are formed (because the material is brittle enough)
• When irregularities and chips are formed, they are ground with a file - from the edge to the center
• Electric saws "eat" about 5 millimeters of paper on each "cut" during the cut, so it is better to leave a small stock.
In general, working with particleboard is quite simple, forIts cutting is suitable for the simplest set of home tools. The material itself is compact enough, however, it can crumble in the places of cuts and fractures - this is worth remembering. The edges of the slabs, which are end-face and noticeable, are recommended to be shredded with a special tape (sold in the same shops as furniture fittings or on the market) or painted over to protect them against destruction over time.
How to assemble the furniture yourself
After the cooker is successfully sawn andis shredded, and the accessories are purchased in the required quantity, you can start assembling. It is necessary to mark out in advance and make all the necessary holes and grooves in the plate (cut-outs for eccentrics, hollows and the like).
Begin assembling best from the largestparts, for example, for the cabinet it will be the assembly of the box itself on the floor; for the table-book - the connection between each other parts of the table top and so on. At the next stage we connect the main elements, we hang the doors, fix the mirrors and so on. At the very end we set shelves in the closet, collect boxes and the like. Before the assembly is complete, we recommend that you do not tighten the screws and screws to the end, so that later you have the opportunity to trim or adjust certain elements.
