How to clean your computer from dust
Every computer has a moment when when you turn it on you hear loud buzz. Do not panic or knock on the system unit, it's just time to open that same buzzing box and clean the computer from dust.

In the system unit (a large box with wires), dust accumulates gradually, which envelops plumes (wires), radiators and fans. This leads to a decrease in cooling and increase fire risk. The temperature in the processor can reach 90 ° C,and in the norm 30-6090 ° C, depending on the model. Before starting cleaning, check the temperature of your processor, video card and hard disk. After cleaning, it should decrease noticeably. Without the necessary cooling, the computer will automatically reboot automatically or not turn on at all.

To clean your computer from dust, you will need:

  • crosshead screwdriver;

  • a vacuum cleaner;

  • brush with soft bristles;

  • rubber gloves on request;

  • a pair of skilful hands;

  • accuracy.

To clean your computer from dust, you need to remove the left cover of the system unit. Before disassembling the system unit, disconnectits from the power supply: pull out the plug from the outlet or turn off the power on the portable outlet and the system unit itself. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws on the left side cover, push it gently to the back of the system unit and remove it. Most often, just remove one panel to clear all the details. But do not forget that dust accumulates under the right lid. The screws of the panel must be loosened easily, you can even do it with your hands, after having twisted a couple of turns with a screwdriver or something like that.

Examine all the details of the computer. Using fans inside the system unitThe air is constantly circulating, which leads to the accumulation of dust. Most of all, it settles on the fan blades (that's why the cooler can start to make noise) and at the bottom. Over time, the dust is metallized, which can cause short circuits, damage to memory modules, etc.

To clean the computer, you do not need to remove the device if youdo the cleaning systematically. It is enough to sweep away dust from them and clean the cooler blades with a small brush or ear wool stick (dry). Remember that cleaning the parts of the system unit must be dry, and it is better not to use the vacuum cleaner, since static electricity can accumulate on the hose. But with general cleaning it is absolutely necessary.

Take a brush with bristles up to 1 cm wide. To clean the computer, it is enough to turn on the vacuum cleaner to medium power and gently brush the dust while sucking it with a vacuum cleaner. As a broom, sweep the dust off the horizontal surfaces, trying to sweep immediately into the vacuum hose. To make it more convenient to work, you can remove loops from the hard drive and optical drive (a device for reading disks). Do not confuse the connectors when connecting devices. Try to memorize or photograph them before disconnecting.

For general cleaning from the motherboard, remove the video card, TV tuner,modem and all that you need to clean. If you are not sure that you can collect all the parts back, then you better try to clean it in the assembled state. Unclip the latch or unscrew the fixing screw on the board, disconnect the wires from the video card. Then gently remove the device. The video card can be fixed with a latch, Do not tear the latch with it. Place the devices on a newspaper and brush and vacuum on both sides. Do not press the parts with a brush to avoid damaging them.

Do not remove the heatsink yourself from the processor,since you can damage the thermal paste layer. The fan can also be cleaned without removing, using a cotton swab or a fine brush. Carefully, but carefully clean the area around the radiator and fan.

Assemble the computer. Install the memory modules, video card,hard drive and other devices. Then connect the wires and loops. Check that all the clamps are latched and the screws are tightened. Do not close the cover of the system unit, first check that all devices are working. To do this, turn on the computer and use special programs to check the temperature of the processor, the core of the video card, and hard disks. If everything works properly, turn off the computer, disconnect the system unit from the power supply and replace its cover. Tighten the screws.

Cleaning the system unit should be done every three months, and those who have it on the floor, every two months. Enter a reminder for yourself in an electronic diary, select a specific date to clean the computer from dust, then the computer itself will remind you of this.
