How to sew a warmed jacket with a hood
Choosing the material from which it is best to sewwinter jacket, pay special attention to the heater. One of the most cold-resistant modern heaters is the holofiber, a type of sintepon, it can withstand temperatures of -25, it does not roll down very much when washing and is very light, but it is not always easy to find it as a filler on the market; goose down is very complex and in processing when sewing and with further care, it is quite heavy, but it does a good job of insulating.
A common sintepon of different brands is forcity clothes in the middle band, perhaps the best option, he and warm (although the frost around 30 degrees can not withstand) and light, and not so whimsical in grooming as fluff. There are many types of synthetic insulation with different names, in general, you can take any. Thick sintepon is usually quilted.
In order to sew a warmed jacket, youyou need a chosen insulation, material for the jacket itself (most often dense raincoat fabric) and lining fabric (of your choice). A leather jacket can also come in as a winter jacket, although the skin is rarely used in these cases. For winter, a jacket with a hood is best; if you want to trim it with fur, you will need a strip of fur, natural or artificial; and, of course, a long zipper for the entire jacket and fastener - a button or a zipper - for a hood that can be made detachable.
How to sew a woman's jacket with her own hands
For the jacket itself: Remove all measurements from yourself or from whom you want to sew a jacket, correct the values in the pattern, transfer it to paper and try again. Do not forget about the allowances. Dissolve all the details of the pattern, transferring them to the fabric. If you decide to make pockets, sew them to the main fabric should be at this stage.
Dissolve the heater for the details of the outer fabric. The heat insulation can be sewn to the top, and it is possible - to the lining, but, in any case, it is more convenient to do it in parts, and not after the jacket is already assembled. More often sew to the top. Sew insulation to all parts of the product and carefully handle the edges.
Sweep the shelf, sleeves and backrest (external onlycloth), try on a jacket, correct, if necessary, shortcomings, sweep with a collar, try it on again. Pay special attention to the shoulder joints. Then stitch the shoulder seams, sew the collar into the neck, attach both parts of the zipper to the shelves, attach the sleeves to the armhole and stitch them, and also sew the side seam.
Attach part of the zipper to the outer part of the collarfor the hood or leave the holes for the buttons, neatly covering them. Assemble the lining on the same principle and sew it with the upper fabric with a heater, starting with the cuffs of the sleeves (turn the upper fabric inside out). Do not forget about the part of the lining that should fit the collar.
For the hood:
Measure your head and, making a change in the patterndigits, if it is required, open a lining, a heater and an external part. The hood consists of two or three parts, depending on the pattern; connect them first with a heater, and then among themselves, and sew to the bottom of the button or the second part of the zipper. Some believe that the hood should be insulated only if you wear a light hat in winter or do not wear it at all.
Otherwise, the hood on the head will belook too "plump." However, not everyone is comfortable with a warm jacket with a light hood; if you want a heater in it, but it looked thinner, just use a different kind of insulation, or on a lining for it take a denser, warmer fabric than for the rest of the jacket (for example, fleece).
