Decoupage of bottles of champagne
What is the New Year without champagne? On each table is a bottle of thick green glass. Decorate it so that it fits better with the New Year's decor ... But how? We advise you to try decoupage bottles of champagne.
Recall that the technique of decoupage istransfer of the image to the decorated surface by the application method. A pattern carved from paper napkins, thin fabric or other materials is glued to the product you want to decorate and is covered with several layers of varnish. As a result, the pattern does not create the impression of glued, organically looking at the product.
Decoupage of bottles of champagne allows you to decorate a bottle with a drink in a New Year's (or any other style), even if you can not draw. To decorate a bottle of champagne in the technique of decoupage, you will need such materials:
- a bottle of champagne
- napkins for decoupage
- PVA glue
- acrylic lacquer
- acrylic paints
- acrylic contours
- Brushes for glue, varnish and paints
- paint tape
- scissors
- alcohol
- sponges for washing dishes
- sequins
First you need to remove the label from the bottle. To do this, soak it in cold water and gently clean the paper that is peeling off. Wash the bottle using a detergent (for example, for dishes) and wipe with alcohol.
Then you can proceed directly to decoupage. Decoupage of bottles of champagne does not fundamentally differ from decoupage of any other surfaces. First you need a bottle primed with PVA glue and wait until it is completely dry. To prevent the glue from getting on the top label, seal it with paint tape. Do not use a hairdryer, so it's best if the glue dries naturally.
Then you need to apply a background. Since we have a New Year's bottle, it's bestuse acrylic paint in white. It is most convenient to apply the paint with a sponge for washing dishes, quickly applying it to the glass. Allow the first coat of paint to dry and apply a second coat.
While the bottle dries, prepare a drawing, which you will apply. If you use ready-made napkins for decoupage, then just cut or tear the pattern out of the napkin. If the pattern is pulled out, the boundaries will not be so sharp, but the transition will be smoother. If you do not have napkins, you can use a postcard. But it must be prepared beforehand.
To do this, cover the front side of the postcard with two coats of lacquer and place it in a container with water upside down for 20 minutes. When the postcard gets wet, gently separate the bottom layers of paper, until there is only one drawing left. Do it slowly, otherwise everything will break. If on the wrong side of the picture there are crockets, remove them with a damp sponge.
Prepared drawing need paste on a painted bottle with the help of varnish or diluted PVA glue. Carefully align the picture so that there are no air bubbles under it. In this case, you need to move from the center of the picture to its edges. Hold the pattern until the glue is tight. Leave the bottle to the side until it dries completely.
Coat the pattern with varnish, if desired, can be sprinkled with sequins. When the varnish dries, tint the surface of the bottle. The shade of colors for toning should correspond to the color scheme of the picture. Paints are best applied with a foam rubber sponge, if neat strokes are needed - cosmetic sponges can be used. Toning will help hide the sharp transition between the picture and the surface of the bottle (if it is).
You can draw a brush or a contour on a bottle additional patterns (for example, snowflakes) or write a New Yearcongratulations, sprinkle the bottle with sequins. After that, it is covered with 3-5 layers of lacquer and dried. Between the layers of varnish, you can lightly (but only slightly!) Sand the surface of the bottle.
A ready-made bottle can be ribbon. Decoupage of bottles of champagne is a great way to decorate your New Year's table, if you celebrate at home, and make an original gift to the owners if you go to visit.
