Dress Pet for Winter: Clothing for York
Yorkshire terriers, although they wereHardy and bright hunters, sensitive to cold. Even thick wool does not always protect them well, especially on long walks. In winter, a homemade Yorkie is better to walk in a warm cloak or overalls. You can sew such clothes for a dog with your own hands.
Overalls, a cape or a blanket can be madeinsulated, lined, and water-repellent outside (in winter often it is wet snow, and many dogs like to climb into the snowdrifts). If your York is long-haired, and the parameters of the coat are very important (for example, it participates in exhibitions), for lining you need to take a slippery light fabric that will not tangle the fur. Between it and the outside, just lay a heater.
Overalls for Yorkshire Terriers with their own hands
There are two types of overalls - with an openbelly (for both sexes) and with a closed (for such coveralls fastener on the back). The second type assumes additional holes on the part covering the abdomen and the back of the trunk, but it is more convenient to fasten it. For beginners
but measure the dog. There are body size parameters for all breeds, but differences in a centimeter can make the overalls uncomfortable for the animal. Measure the length of the back to the tail, the girth of the chest and neck, and the length of the paws and waist circumference. Transfer all measurements to a pattern. It is best to make a trial version of the overalls from a single-layer simple fabric (from some old thing).
Cut and sweep all the pieces, and then try onon the dog - so you can see where the pattern will need to be corrected, because, despite the generality of the breed, each dog is still individual. Then fix the pattern and cut out all the details. Do not forget that there will be an elastic band in the cuffs and neck, and the fabric will need a little more to assemble.
Sweep the inside (back and all four"sleeves") from the "outer" fabric. Insulate them - it is best for the sleeves and, in the future, the stomach and breasts to use sintepon, it is softer and allows you to not feel seams. For the back, you can take a warm - it is very warm and will protect the spine well from the cold, but rather rough to the touch.
Quilter the sintepon, trim excess and,attaching the lining to the resulting structure with pins, sew on the sewing machine. Repeat for the remaining parts - front and bottom, for the abdomen. Remember that for the gates and cuffs sleeves you will need an elastic band - otherwise they may get mud and snow, and also penetrate the cold. Choose not so tight elastic that the dog did not feel a dyscomfort.

Decorative and warming blanket is different fromoveralls lack of "sleeves" and a more loose throat. It is easier to put on a dog, the dog feels more comfortable in it, because its movements do not restrain anything, but it does not protect the paws of the blanket from the cold.

Measure the dog, cut out the details on the pattern(any of the popular, you can make a blanket from a single piece of triangular piece of cloth, or maybe two or more elements) of paper or old cloth and try on, fitting it to fit. Warm the horsecloth, quilt the sintepon and sew the lining, and after - a wide strip of lock-"Velcro" on the back or side, depending on the design of the blanket.
