Beaver Yorkshire Terrier
- this is a rare variety of Yorkshire terriers. It arose relatively recently in Germany. This breed was not officially recognized by the International Cynological Federation.

Other breed names - beaver, beaver york, beaver terrier, beaver yorkshire terrier a la Pom Pont. The first representative of the breed wasBeaver Yorkshire Terrier Schneeflocken von Friedheck, born in January 1984. His parents were the traditional Yorkshire terriers, who lived with a married couple of breeders Werner and Gertrude Beaver.

Beaver Yorkshire Terrier is different from traditional Yorkies presence of white spots. The appearance of the first Yorkies with white spots was a big intrigue for the Beaver couple. They decided to investigate a possible recessive gene in the dogs of their breeding line, and a breed of beaver york appeared.

In March 1988, they first introduced a newbreed in the show ring in Wiesbaden. Then the Beaver Yorkshire terriers were called black and white Yorkies. In 1989, the breed was registered in the German club A.C.H.-L.e.V., and Werner Beaver signed the first breed standard. In 2007 Gertrude Beaver signed the final standard. But The ICF, as we have already said, has not yet recognized the breed officially.

Phrase "A la Pom Pont" (which translates from French as "a tangle of yarn") was added to the main title severallater. According to legend, the husband of the German singer Margot Extenes during dinner gave his wife an unusual gift - a puppy of a yorkshire beaver on a platter. True, and here is a tangle of yarn, it is unclear. Perhaps, Margot, feeling out, gave out just such a comparison. Or just in the first second I really took a puppy for a goblet of yarn.

As we have already said, Beaver Terrier is different from traditional Yorkies with coat color. The color of the head in beavers differs from the colorhousing. Head colors are acceptable: white - gold - blue or white - gold - black (in good symmetry). White color on the muzzle is not mandatory when viewed from the front. The muzzle of the beavers may be dark, but necessarily in contrast to the tan.

There are several options for coloring the case. White has limbs (both front and back), abdomen and chest, and the white color on the chest also extends to the neck and chin. And the rest of the body can be painted in such variants: blue - white or black - white over the entire length of the body or completely black or blue with a white "jabot", there is no golden color on the body.

In other respects, the Yorkshire Terrier does not differ much from ordinary Yorkers in appearance or in character. However just in case, let us recall the basic rules of caring for this breed of dogs. The terrier beaver has a luxurious long coat that needs constant care. To ensure that the dog's fur coat remains clean for longer, the hair must be combed daily.

For combing, you need to use Natural brushes made of horsehair or pig bristles. The brush should be stiff enough, but not too thick. For combing the tangled wool and combing out the dead undercoat, use wooden, horn or metal combs.

If the dog somewhere is smeared, you need to buy it. However, too frequent bathing is harmful to the coat, since they negatively affect its condition (it is advisable to bathe the dog no more often than twicemonth). You need to bathe the yorkshire's beaver in warm water with a special shampoo, after which you must dry the hair with a towel or a hair dryer (if the dog does not fear it). After walking the paws and the dog's stomach should be washed without soap (shampoo).

Because of the long and thick coat, the Yorkshire terrier needs a regular care of the ears. It is necessary to periodically comb and shortenwool on the ears, and also pull out the dead skin from the ear canal and regularly clean it. Also, carefully remove with a cloth soaked in warm water, highlighting in the corners of the dog's eyes and cutting her claws.
