Breeds of cats: ragamuffin

Ragamuffins are very similar to another breed of cats - ragdoll. This is not surprising, because the appearance of the breedragamuffin is due to the fact that the breeders wanted to diversify the colors of the ragdolls. According to the standard, four colors of the ragdoll color (purple, chocolate, blue and "forces") are allowed and three types (bicolor, mitted and color-point). To obtain a more diverse coloring, the breed of ragamuffin was derived.
Ragdolls began to cross with mongrelcats (the very "ragamuff" to whom the breed of cats ragamuffin owes its name), in order to preserve the elegant appearance of the ragdoll, but still get interesting colors. In 1994, the first ragamuffins were presented at a cat show, and in 2003 the CFA officially recognized the breed. The cats were described as casual by casualties, but the name ragamuffin turned out to be "tenacious" and so caught on.
Externally ragamuffins resemble ragdolls, and they have the same character. The only difference is in the colors, the variety of which the ragamuffin breed can boast. The standard practically does not limit the breed in color: all classical colors are allowed, as well as sepia, mink, color-point, with the exception of faun and cinnamon. Both monochrome and tabby colors are allowed, as well as their combinations with any amount of white.
Ragamuffin can have green or golden green eyes (for classical colors), aquamarine, blue, green and yellow-green (for white and bicolor), blue (for color points), aquamarine (for minks) and golden-green (for sepia). Bicolors and white ragamuffins can be disagreements.
Ragamuffin has a smooth, silky and very thick coat - long or medium length. On the outside of the head and around the neck, the hair is slightly longer, so it seems that ragamuffin wears a peculiar collar. On the back pants for cats of this breed are "panties" made of wool. Undercoat has almost the same structure and length as the integumentary hair.
Ragamuffin is an almost ideal breed for home maintenance. These cats are very attached to the owner andperfectly get on with all members of the family, including with children. They like to sit on their hands and do not resist, whatever you do with them. Therefore, by the way, it is necessary to protect ragamuffin from intrusive attention of small children. Ragamuffin does not know how to defend himself, if he is being harassed, he can only hide. Even this breed lacks a hunting instinct, so hunters of mice from ragamuffins are useless.
Ragamuffin is a calm and quick-witted cat, very playful and affectionate. He is very capable of training (as far as possible for a cat) and adapts easily to new conditions. Ragamuffin will get along well with other pets, if you have them.
Ragamuffin does not need any special conditions of detention. But it is important that his diet is balanced. It is best to feed your cat with professional feeds, when feeding "naturalka" it can be difficult to maintain an optimal balance of nutrients. If you still feed the cat with natural food, you need to add vitamin-mineral complexes to food.
Do not forget to give the cat a special paste, which prevents the formation of clots of wool (trihobezoarov). Ragamuffins have long hair, and, licking themselves, they often swallow it. And the lumps of wool are formed. It is better if you reduce the probability of their occurrence to a minimum. Also need regularly comb out the long coat of your pet, modern wipe and clean your eyes and ears (just do not penetrate the wadding stick deep into the ear canal).
Ragamuffin - very beautiful and affectionate cat, an excellent companion who can become not just a pet, but a member of your family.
