How to install a mixer

First of all, install special filters for mechanical cleaning, if they have not been installed before. As a rule, such filters are put in the first stage of the work during the building of walls and pipe routing. This stage is very important, as the filters prevent the ingress of various impurities into the water, which can disrupt the operation of the mixer and even break it.

To install a mixer, you need a pairWrench, the working width of which is more than 32 millimeters. Also, will need large pliers, several hex wrench spanners. If you need to remove the old mixer, a gas key is useful. Vinyl insulating tape protects parts covered with nickel from unwanted scratches. It will need to be wound either on the parts themselves, or on the sponges of 2-3 layers for greater reliability.

As a rule, good mixer partsare collected without the use of tools. The only thing you might need is to press a few nuts with adjustable keys. In the delivery set of the device must be all the necessary silicone and rubber gaskets for sealing joints between parts. Direct connection to the pipeline is carried out by means of special union nuts, as well as adapters.

To seal the threads, we recommend using a linen cloth or FUM tape, which is wound on the thread itself in such a way that the thread of the nut goes in the direction of winding the tape. Usually enough fifteen turns.

In order to install the mixer as much as possiblereliably, special attention should be paid to the connection. The fact is that very often it is difficult to accurately determine the distance between the pipeline terminals and the union nuts, so use eccentric adapters.

The seal between the union nut and the large thread is made with a rubber gasket, so never tighten the nuts to the end. We recommend that you first tighten it with your hand, and thento make half a turn with a key. To check the reliability of the connection, simply open the water. If water drips from under the nuts, they should be tightened a little.

Also worth mentioning about the possibility of using decorative linings, designed to cover the places of tapping the mixer in the water supply. Install them on the adapters before screwing the mixer itself.

To install the mixer directly to the washbasin, eccentric adapters are not needed. As a rule, in this case the connections are made flexible hoses.

Finally, it should be said that when mounting the mixer do not hurry. In the beginning, be sure to consider the whole sequence of actions. You can also try to twist the eccentric without using a sealer. In addition, before work is mandatory cover the washbasin and bathtub with a cloth. The fact is that the instruments and the mixer itself are quite heavy, and, having fallen, can cause considerable damage, for example, to split the enamel or even to break down the faience.
