How to find out the IP-address of a site
In previous articles, we already told you how to find the IP address of your computer or someone else's computer. But sometimes there is also a need to determine the IP of some site. How to find out the IP-address of the site? There are several ways, and they are all quite simple.
The first way is to use the Windows command line, or rather, certain command-line utilities. To enter the command line, click "Start"select "Run ...", in the "Open" line of the window that appears, enter cmd and press OK or Enter. To call the "Run" window, you can also simply use the Win + R shortcut.
To find the IP address of the site using the command line, enter the ping command in combination with the domain of the site you are interested in without http and www (for example, ping strana-sovetov.com). The utility will start sharing packages with the site, while the command line displays the following message:
"Exchange packages from example.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] with 32 bytes of data"
The number in square brackets is the IP address of the search site. Note that if you ping the site, located on several servers (usually large-scale projects like VKontakte), you will learn the IP of only one of the servers - the one to which the utility was able to "reach out".
Instead of the ping command, you can use the nslookup command. Some use to determine the IP site tracert command (tracing the route to the site). It is entered the same way as the ping command. But when using the tracert command, you get a list of all the intermediate nodes that the packet passes on the way to the desired site. From the list, you will need to select the last IP address indicated in square brackets, and it will be the address of the site.
You can also Learn the IP address of the site using specialized web resources. All of them operate on the same principle: you enter the domain name of the site you are interested in in a special line and click the "Define IP" button, after which the system displays the site's IP (or list of all IP if the site is located on several servers).
Here are a few sites that allow Identify IP by domain:
vinete.org/ip
2ip.ru/lookip
whois.net
ip-whois.net
mainspy.ru
Of course, there are many more such sites, but these should be enough for you to determine the IP-address for the domain name of the site.
If you use the browser Mozilla Firefox, you can put Addition ShowIP, which allows you to determine the IP-address of the site on which you are located. Just in case, let us recall how theadditions: Tools → Add-ons, enter the name of the add-on in the search field (in this case ShowIP), press Enter. Click the "Install" button near the required add-on, and after installation restart the browser.
After you install the ShowIP add-on, the site address on thewhich you are currently in, will be displayed in the lower left corner of the browser window (in the Add-ons pane). If you click on it, it will unfold menu with additional information: IP-address, host, ISP (Internet provider), country, city.
Also in the menu is a list of links to sites that provide additional information about the domain (country, provider, DNS, etc.), in particular:
ip2country.cc
robtex.com/dns/
dns.l4x.org
whoishostingthis.com
netcraft.com
domaintools.com
Thus, there are several ways to find out the IP-address of the site. All of them are quite simple and affordable. The trick is only that one site can have multiple IP addresses, if it is located on several servers. There is also a reverse - one IP-address can be shared by several sites located on the same server.
