Themes for Opera: how to install?Sophisticated users are not demandingonly to the functionality of programs, but also to their appearance. And it's not surprising: if a person, say, spends a lot of time on the Internet, he wants his browser to be pleasing to the eye. "Decorate" the browser will help you create themes (skins). In this article, how to install themes for Opera.

A huge number of sites on the Internet offerits users download themes for Opera. But not all these sites can be trusted. Of course, among them there are really sites that offer a wide range of beautiful skins. But there are also scam sites, instead of the theme of the design, the virus that slides you up or requires you to send SMS to a short number to get a link to download. Therefore, it is safer to install themes for Opera, using the functionality of the browser itself.

So how do I find and install a theme for Opera? To get started, you need to enter the design manager. There are two ways to do this:

  • Click the Menu button and select the Appearance option;

  • use the keyboard shortcut Shift + F12.

The window for setting up the design will open. You need Themes tab (it will be active by default). Most likely, the set of proposed topics will be very scarce. You can, of course, "play around" with standard themes, changing the color scheme and the size of the icons. Usually, such color schemes: system, golden, sand, jungle, sea, blue, indigo, purple, crimson, red.

But what if the standard themes for Opera do not suit you? You can download new skins for Opera and install from directly in the settings settings window. To do this, select the option Find topics from the top of the window instead of the Installed themes option. The topic search window opens, there will be four tabs:

  • popular;

  • new;

  • recommended;

  • the best.

You can switch between tabs and view the recommended topics. Each theme is accompanied by a screenshot (so you can evaluate its appearance without setting it) and brief information: author's nickname, rating (on a five-point scale),description and link to reviews. If you click on this link, a page with a full description of the theme for Opera and user reviews on the official website of the browser will open.

To install a favorite theme, click the Download button below the description or the screenshot of the theme. The browser will download the theme and "try it on". You will be asked to apply this theme and save it to disk. If you like what your browser looks like with the new theme, click Yes. Well, if you decide to find something nicer - click No.

With themes, you can change the appearance of your browser almost beyond recognition and even "disguise" Opera under another browser - for example, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. But keep in mind that not all themes for Opera are compatible with the latest versions of the browser. Usually the compatibility of the skin can be read on its page on the Opera website (how to get to it, we wrote above).

In some "assemblies" of the browser madeusers (for example, Opera AC), there is a sufficiently large number of predefined themes. But "assemblies" is an option for an amateur. Someone likes them with an abundance of additional options and "chips", and someone thinks that they work slower and worse than a "clean" browser. If you still decide to try the "build", we remind you that you should not download the installation package from suspicious sites.

As you can see, self-install themes for Opera is quite simple. The main problem is to choose the best topic fromproposed diversity. And if you prefer a different browser, you might find useful articles on how to install themes for Mozilla Firefox 4.0 or Google Chrome.
