How to treat bruises

A bruise is a mechanical damage to soft tissues. It would seem that nothing deadly will happen if you hit a corner of the bed or dropped a heavy object on the leg. However, the damage is of a different nature, so it's worth to know, how to treat bruises, so as not to bring a simple bruise to the condition of a painful severe hematoma.
Contusions are of different nature and varying degrees of complexity. If the upper cover of the tissue is damaged, blood accumulates under the skin. This is the hematoma, which, depending on the place of education, by itself passes for a certain amount of time.
On the face the bruise passes in a week, on a body - in two-three, depending on complexity of impact, on a leg - in a month. You need to treat bruises right away, that there was no pain shock and there were no complications.
If the skin is not damaged, you need to quickly cool the damage area. It is not recommended to immediately apply ice, because the wounded place will experience an even greater shock. If there is nothing besides ice, it should be wrapped in a rag napkin or handkerchief, and then applied. This widespread phenomenon, as a "bump", is also treated with cooling. If you or your child have a similar injury, do not immediately put your head on the cold glass, as is usually done. Try not to overcool the injured place, because you will make it even worse. Inflammation of the skin as a consequence of such questionable treatment is a very unpleasant thing.
Sometimes the hematoma dissolves due to a thermal bath, compresses from alcohol. With alcohol, the main thing is not to overdo it, so that the place of the hematoma does not cause a burn.
You can treat bruises and folk methods. There are a lot of them, but there are some simple ones available at home. Let's consider some of them:
- you can prepare a compress of honey and aloe, which must be applied three times a day to the place of damage;
- well removes the pain and swelling of a leaf of fresh cabbage, which generally has excellent healing properties;
- if the impact is slight, you can use thiscalled "flax plaster." It is necessary to very finely crush a linen rag and add vegetable oil. If you apply such a compress, the bruise passes twice as fast;
- you can treat bruises due to the usual beans. To do this, it must be welded and crushed, and then applied to the site of damage. Such compress should be warm, but in no case is not hot! Instead of beans, you can still use boiled potatoes.
Try not to overdo it with ointment and creams from bruises. Highly concentrated ointments can damage the color of damaged skin, burn it and make it dry, flaky. Better to treat bruises with cooling gels, which contain refreshing menthol. Gels are sold in pharmacies, so consult an apothecary and properly describe the nature of the damage. "I have a bruise" - this phrase is rather inaccurate. It happens that a person calls a bruise a bruise, but in fact there is a whole extensive hematoma.
Often the symptoms of a bruise are very similar to dislocations and fractures. If a person feels that not only the skin is affected, but the overall changes are felt, it is worth immediately contacting a doctor. Sometimes, from a normal stroke, there may not even be a serious visual change in the skin, but a couple of days later there is swelling, redness and severe pain. If the bone is hurt, it's an excuse to sound an alarm. Here folk medicine is powerless, but a good surgeon will quickly put your health in place.
