Toxicosis in early pregnancy

Toxicosis should be distinguished from the usual malaise, which is a natural condition of a woman in the early stages of pregnancy. Mild nausea in pregnancy and malaisein the mornings - this is not a form of toxicosis. After a meal, very often the nausea passes. Therefore, do not worry that you can feel mild nausea up to three times a day. It is simply a manifestation of the lack of nutrients for the development of the fetus.
But if after a meal nausea does not go away and you feel it all day, it's already signs of toxicosis. If nausea is not accompanied by vomiting, such a toxicosis in the early stages of pregnancy does not require treatment. This condition itself will pass before the second trimester.
But it is worth considering that early toxicosis of pregnant women can have more severe forms of manifestation. Doctors define three forms of early toxicosis: mild, moderate and severe. With a mild form of toxicosis, a woman constantlyand vomits up to five times a day. There is also a loss of not more than 5% of the body weight. The woman's state of health remains normal, but sometimes apathy and fatigue may appear. Clinical blood and urine tests do not show any changes in the body, blood pressure remains normal. It can only be palpitations. Since the general state of health remains normal, many women do not attach much importance to this condition. A mild toxicosis does not disappear on its own. It passes into the form of a toxicosis of average severity.
At a toxicosis of average severity the general or common state of health of the woman sharply worsens. Vomiting can be up to ten times a day, andconstant nausea does not pass. Infringements in a metabolism make itself felt by general malaise and loss of body weight more than 5% from the initial. In addition, a woman has a fever and a pulse. The blood test shows a decrease in hemoglobin, and in the urine determine the signs of acetone. Also at this stage of toxicosis is dry and pale skin. The tongue becomes covered with a whitish bloom. Toxicosis of moderate severity requires treatment.
Toxicosis in pregnant women of moderate severity without treatment can go into severe form when dehydration and intoxication of the body. The general condition of a woman is extremely severe, vomiting can occur up to 20 times a day. If a severe degree of toxicosis is not amenable to treatment, pregnancy will necessarily be interrupted.
