How to determine ovulation?
Ovulation is a natural process thatoccurs in the body of every woman of reproductive age. This term is known to almost all adult representatives of the fair sex, but for those who for some reason are not sufficiently informed on this issue, our article is written.
What is ovulation
At a certain stage of the menstrual cyclea mature egg leaves its follicle and advances into the abdominal cavity - this is called ovulation. In sexually mature women, capable of conceiving, the frequency of this process is 21-34 days, which is regulated by the hormonal system of the body. In the postpartum, post-abortion and pre-climactic periods, the adjusted menstrual cycle changes somewhat. This phenomenon is absent during pregnancy and stops after the onset of a woman's menopause.
The main signs of ovulation
In a woman's life there are cases whenit is necessary to determine the time of onset of ovulation. This concerns the planning of the child or vice versa, protection from pregnancy. With the approach of the described process in the body there are small hormonal changes, in connection with which some women experience the following:
Pain in the lower abdomen. Their intensity may differ in each individual case, but most often they appear as blunt drawing pains that spread from the abdominal cavity to the lumbar region.
Increased sexual desire. This phenomenon is due to the natural instinct of reproduction, because it is the period of ovulation that is most suitable for successful conception.
Change in the type and intensity of vaginalexcretions. At the very beginning of the menstrual cycle, a woman practically does not notice the so-called leucorrhoea, but by the time of ovulation the discharge from the genital tract becomes stronger and acquires a viscous consistency.
How to determine ovulation
If you are protected from unwantedpregnancy on a calendar method or, conversely, plan to conceive a baby, then you just need to determine the time of ovulation. How can this be done:
Measure the basal temperature and leadspecial schedule. To do this, you will need to purchase a separate mercury thermometer and conduct daily measurements at the same time of day. Typically, during ovulation, the body temperature in the rectum increases by 0.5 ° C.
Conduct a special test, whichit is possible in a drugstore. In appearance, such a test is similar to the one by which pregnancy is determined, and the principle of action is the same for them. Each of the strips reacts to a certain substance: in the analysis for pregnancy, it is chorionic gonadotropin, and in the test for ovulation - luteinizing hormone.
Listen to your own feelings. As already described above, the release of the egg from the follicle is accompanied by discomfort, weak pain and intense vaginal discharge. In addition, during the period of ovulation, a woman subconsciously seeks to conceive, which is manifested in increased libido.
Sometimes it becomes necessary to reliablydetermine the onset of ovulation. In this case, it is better to go to an ultrasound examination, where the expert will tell you exactly whether the phenomenon will occur in a particular menstrual cycle. If the ultrasound apparatus does not detect the presence of a dominant follicle, then ovulation will not occur in the near future. Well, in the case when a similar follicle is present in the ovary, the process of the release of the egg from it will necessarily occur.
