New Year's calendar with their own handsBoth children and adults are eagerly awaiting the New Year holidays and consider the days remaining until December 31. To slightly brighten this expectation, you can make a beautiful New Year's calendar with their own hands - with him the counting of days will become much more interesting and even exciting.

In general, the New Year calendar is an adaptation Christmas calendar, which is customary to give to children in Catholic countries. Catholics expecting Christmas begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve, this period is called Advent.

The Advent calendar is a cardboard house or postcard with small windows. In each window there is a note with wishes, sweetness or a small gift. In every day of Advent the child opens one little window and gets his surprise.

We do not have the Advent tradition, but who prevents to make a New Year's calendar instead of Christmas, which will brighten up the holiday for the child? Especially since for the manufacture of such a calendar you can use improvised materials. For example, on the calendar-panel you can leave the shreds remaining from sewing.

The basis of such a calendar is a one-ton thick fabric, for example, felt. For the pockets will suit a variety of variegatedshreds. Figures on the pockets can be made from braid or cut from the same felt that you will use for the base. Still need a wooden stick and string, with which you hang the New Year's calendar.

The size of the base depends on the number and size of the pockets. It is better to start counting from the beginning of December andcount from 1 to 31 or from 2 to 31, so that the number of pockets is 30, and you could sew them with a rectangle 5 into 6 pockets. Cut out the right number of pockets, lay out on the table at the necessary intervals and estimate how large the New Year calendar will be, and how much felt you need to take.

To the desired size, you need to add 2 cm on the right, left and bottom for hem hemming and 6-8 cm for the kuliska. Take a piece of felt of the right size, tuck and stitch the edges, make a wedge based on the diameter of the wooden stick.

Then you need to take colorful motley braid, four strips. The length of two strips should be equal to the widthbases + 1 cm on each side for folding, the length of the other two - the height that should occupy the pockets. Two strips of stitch horizontally, top and bottom of the base, two - vertically, right and left, to make a square of braid.

For each pocket, stitch the numbers with a zigzag. If you make them out of braid, it's easier to makeRoman, if you cut out of felt - you can and Arab. Instead of figures you can make funny New Year's applications - Christmas trees, snowflakes, deer, candles, etc. Gently attach the pockets to the base, in rows, starting from the top and ending with the bottom. If you are afraid of stitching unevenly, make a neat marking on the braid.

When all the pockets are sewn, put a wand in the kuliska, tie a rope or string to it. The New Year calendar is ready, it remains to spread out pockets of sweets or presents, and you can safely hang it on the wall and start the countdown before the New Year!

There are also The less time-consuming ways to make a New Year's calendar. You can just take a sheet of Whatman, paste onhis pockets of colored paper with figures or pictures drawn on them, and decorate the remaining space in the same way as it comes to the head: with drawings, appliqués, glitter or tinsel can be glued on.

To make another version of the New Year calendar, you may need the help of the pope. In such a calendar instead of pockets will be bags. Sew the desired number of bags from the fabric. This is very simple: sew two squares on three sides (do not finish sewing on the left and right so that you can make the kuliska). Stitch the kuliska, unscrew the pouch and slip the ribbon into the kuliska.

Then you need to make a frame for the calendar (for this, and need a dad). Take some thin racks: two will be located vertically, the rest - horizontally. The length of the vertical rails depends on the number of horizontal rails, and it, in turn, depends on how you plan to place the bags. Horizontal bars need to be nailed to the vertical and drive in them at regular intervals small carnations (or screw in self-tapes with hooks), and hang bags with gifts on them.

And you can make a sweet New Year's calendar for your child. Dare!
