In the middle of December, the water from the ponds is lowered, and the carp "move" into large containers of water. A week before Christmas Eve, these tanks with live carps are installed on the streets of cities, and each strives to choose a better carp. It is customary to put a scrap of Christmas carp in a purse - it is believed that it brings financial well-being for the whole next year.
