Exterior
With a total length of 3900 mm, a width of 1695 mm and a height of 1525 mm, the new Jazz occupies its own niche between hatchback B-class and compact minivans, possessing the style of the former and the practicality of the latter.
The height of the new Honda Jazz remained on the samelevel, but the length increased by 55 mm, and it became wider by 20 mm. The wheelbase has increased by 50 mm, and the track of the front and rear wheels - by 35 and 30 mm, respectively, which contributes to greater stability of the car with active driving.
Despite the increase in size, the radius of rotation4.9 m is the same as the previous model, and thanks to improved visibility the new generation has even better characteristics of operation in urban conditions.
In addition, the new Jazz is now even easier to get into the salon and go out thanks wide-opening rear doors, which now have three fixed opening levels, which provides greater convenience in tight city parking.
The key moment in the style of the new model was swept design with highly tilted front pillars, which visually creates an effect of the integrity of the model with smooth lines leaving from the front bumper to the rear.
The design of the front, convincing in the sports qualities of the car, is characterized by large blocks of headlights, which are rounded on both sides of the car by the rising line of the front bumper and made in the form of a sports grille radiator.
Wide track and long wheelbase The new model gives a confident feelingsolidity, highlighted by enlarged wheel arches and larger wheels - 15-inch steel on models with engine 1.2 and engine 1.4 in the LS package, as well as 15-inch light-alloy for 1.4 1.4 and 16-inch configuration for the complete set 1.4 EX.
Rear design is as unique as the wholecar, thanks to the narrowing of the rear upper part of the body and the descending line of the roof, while this in no way affects the space for the rear passengers. The original layout of the salon, which gotfrom the previous Jazz model, is provided with a compact suspension and a centrally located fuel tank, which allows you to free up more space in the cabin, and thanks to the increased dimensions of the new model, the comfort of the saloon goes to a new, higher level.
A slight increase in the length and width of the car allowed increase the amount of space for passengers, and advanced even further forward windshield allows you to make the new Jazz the most spacious in its class with unrivaled flexibility in the layout of the cabin.
Space for the feet of the rear passengersincreased by 18 mm, and the distance between the front and rear seats - by 30 mm. A slight increase in the width of the body also provided an increase in width at shoulder level of 44 mm in front and 43 mm in the rear.

Engine
Honda set a goalto achieve on the new generation of Honda Jazz the best in the class balance between the level of fuel consumption and the pleasure of driving. Instead of a two-valve engine i-DSI, which was installed on previous models of Honda Jazz, the new generation is equipped with the latest development - four-valve 1.4-liter petrol engines with i-VTEC system, providing high performance and torque throughout the range of engine operation.
The new 1.4-liter engine has the sameworking volume, like its predecessor i-DSI, equal to 1339 cm3, but the power increased from 83 to 100 liters. from. and is achieved at revolutions slightly exceeding 6000 rpm. The torque value increased to 127 Nm at 4,800 rpm, while in the previous model this figure was 119 Nm at 2800 rpm.
New more powerful gasoline engines have high fuel economy. The main goal of their development is to satisfythe needs of customers who are interested in low fuel consumption, comparable in their performance with diesel engines, as well as those who need a smaller engine for various reasons.
Balance between the pleasure of driving andfuel economy, which provides new engines, is one of the best in the class, thanks to the use of the proprietary system Honda VTEC (variable valve timing system).
New engines in volume of 1,4-liter are aggregated at will 5-speed manual transmission or, for motors 1.4, 6-speed automatic transmission i-SHIFT, which allows you to switch gears manually using the steering wheel paddles.
