Warming of a wooden floor

Usually wooden floor can be found in oldor low-rise buildings, in private houses and in cottages. Such a floor is a lag on which planking is located. If the wooden floor is not adequately insulated, then, in time, moist air and condensation collect under the boards. The logs begin to decay, and the floor starts to let out from the room the heat.
Thermal insulation of the wooden floor - the task is not too complicated (at least, it is easier to insulate the wooden floor than the concrete floor). In fact, The insulation consists in creating a layer that would not let warm air out onto the street. Therefore, under the flooring layer, it is necessary to place a layer of insulation and a layer of vapor barrier.
What kind of insulation is better to choose? Different types of floor insulation have their advantages and disadvantages. Usually, mineral wool, fiberglass or styrofoam / expanded polystyrene are used. Polyfoam (expanded polystyrene) good if you need to reduce the thickness of the insulation layer to a minimum. But it is flammable and can be damaged by rodents.
Fiberglass and mineral wool less flammable, but at the same time absorb moremoisture, with fiberglass more hygroscopic than mineral wool. Therefore, the corresponding hydro and vapor barrier is very important for them. But the insulation with foam and polystyrene foam without hydro-and vapor barrier also can not do, although they absorb moisture less.
Why do I need a vapor barrier? The fact is that moisture, getting into the heater, will reduce its thermal insulation ability. In addition, a wooden floor with a vapor barrier layer will last you longer. As a vapor barrier layer, regular polyethylene can be used, but it is better to give preference to specialized materials. Such materials not only retain moisture, but also reduce the heat transfer of the floor, reflecting thermal radiation.
Warming of the wooden floor in the house
Usually wooden floors in holiday homes are logs covered with boards, inIn the best case, the boards are covered with fiberboard. It is clear that in this case the thermal insulation of the floor leaves much to be desired, and it needs to be insulated. For insulation you will need a heater, a vapor barrier, a wooden block for fixing the vapor barrier layer and a board of at least 20 mm thick.
First you need to remove the flooring and the floor (from the outside of the room) and attach it over the entire length of the room auxiliary board. On this board you need to put a heater. In this case, the best variant of insulation - foam or polystyrene foam: these heaters are the least hygroscopic, which is especially important in conditions of high humidity. Joints must be treated with a mounting foam, so that there are no gaps.
The layer of the vapor barrier is spread over the insulation. To the logs it is fixed with a wooden bar with a section of 30x30 or 20x30. The joints of the vapor barrier must be glazed with metallized scotch, to improve the vapor barrier. After this, you can cover the main floor.
Warming of the wooden floor in the apartment
In the apartment, the wooden floor is easier to insulate, but you still have to remove the flooringlayer. The wooden floor in the apartment is usually arranged as follows: on the concrete overlap lags are installed, on which the planks forming the covering layer are attached.
First you need to remove the flooring. After that, lay the heater between the lags. If there are joints between the lags and the heater, you need to close them. If you use mineral wool as a heater, you can not process the joints. Then you need to lay the vapor barrier layer in the same way as when warming the wooden floor in the house. And in the end it is put in place.
Thermal insulation of a wooden floor is an important part of comfort and coziness in your home, therefore, in no case should they not be neglected.
