Created on the basis of modern technologies, more economical, environmentally friendly and providing driving pleasure, ECOTEC® engines of the new Opel Astra have excellent performance with a modest fuel consumption.
Engine line
The new Opel Astra comes with atmosphericpetrol engines (1.4 ECOTEC® and 1.6 ECOTEC®), as well as compact turbocharged engines with a maximum power of 103 kW (140 hp) and 132 kW (180 hp), respectively. All of them are built on a 16-valve technology and equipped with modern systems optimizing the parameters of the intake air flow.
Engines are made using lightmaterials and structures that minimize their mass. Gasoline engines combine modern mechanical gearboxes (5 or 6-speed), which are characterized by an accurate and rapid gear shift.
