It is best to cook this delicacy in early summer. Depending on the climate, pine cones for jam are collected in different regions from the last May days to the end of July. A curative treat that works well for prolonged coughing is prepared solely from young green cones. The fetus's suitability for subsequent eating can be checked as follows: the cone should be easily pierced with a fingernail or cut with a knife.



Important! To prepare jam from green cones at home, fetuses from one to five centimeters in size are suitable.




Necessary ingredients:




  • young pine cones - 1 kg.


  • water - 1 liter.


  • sugar - 1 kg.




Step-by-step instruction




  1. In order to prepare the jam, you should collect young, soft and green pine cones, growing on a healthy tree.


  2. They must be carefully sorted out, remove debris and needles.


  3. Washed pine cones filled with water, which should lightly cover them about two centimeters. In this condition, we leave for the night.


  4. The next day, merge with the cones infusion and add sugar in classical proportions - 1 kilogram of sugar per 1 liter of liquid.


  5. We put infusion with sugar on the stove and bring to a boil.


  6. After the sugar syrup boils, add to it all the bumps.


  7. We bring the future jam from cones to a boil. Fruits immediately begin to change color. After boiling, it is necessary to reduce the fire and to simmer the bumps on a small fire for about an hour and a half.


  8. If foam appears during the cooking process, it is necessary to reduce the temperature of the plate.


  9. The readiness of the jam is determined by the degree of welding the cone - it should be soft and easy to chew. A properly cooked treat will have a pleasant reddish-brown tinge.


  10. It remains only to cool the jam slightly and pour it over the jars. Keep jam from pine cones should be like any other jam - in a dark and cool place.
