Kitesurfing: will we ride with the breeze?One of the most spectacular types of extreme sports is kiting. Kitesurfing - a kind of "hybrid" of sailing and otherextreme sports (skiing, snowboarding, windsurfing). The Land of Soviets will tell about this extreme and exciting hobby today.

In translation from English "kite" (kite) - a kite. Kites are used as kites for driving force. And as a means of transportation can act anything - from skis and snowboards to surfboard and wakeboard.

Of course, a kite is not an exact copy of kites, which children like to run. The kite is designed primarily for towing a person, and its purpose affects choice of design of the kite and the material from which it is made.

Kiting is divided into different types depending on the vehicle used. Depending on the type of kiting is selected and view of the kite - one of the three:

  • water kites They are used for water kinds of kiting (first of all kitesurfing);

  • winter kites Are used for towing on snow (on a snowboard, skis, etc.) or the earth (on rollers, skateboard);

  • training (aerobatics) kites Used for training, from ordinary kites they are smaller in size.

The purpose of the kite determines its design. Exist three main constructive solutions:

  • balonniki (inflatable kites) are used mainly for water kiting;

  • parafolic are used mainly for ground kiting and for training purposes;

  • Kites NPW (Nasa Para Wing) use is rare, mainly because of low aerodynamic quality.

Besides, kites are different the dome area, wing characteristics and management methods.

As we have already said, kiting is divided into species depending on the vehicle used by the athlete. Perhaps, some of the most common types of kiting - this is kitesurfing and snowkiting.

Snowkiting combines winter types of kiting - riding onmountain skiing, snowboarding, sometimes even skating. In this case, kiting is an excellent way out if there are no mountains nearby, but you really want to get your portion of extreme from skiing or snowboarding. You can simply surrender to the will of the elements, following the wind, or you can learn to perform dizzying jumps and tricks.

Kitesurfing - this is kiting, combined with windsurfing. Perhaps, for today it is one of the most popular kinds of kiting, and its popularity grows every day. In kitesurfing, athletes do not just "catch the wave", but also perform various tricks: turning, jumping, picking up boards in different places. Kitesurfing is a very entertaining kind of kiting, which invariably gathers a huge number of spectators.

In addition to these two directions, kiting includes kiteboarding, kiteboarding, kite-lifting and many other directions.

What kind of kiting should I choose? Several factors influence the choice. To begin with, think about which vehicle suits you personally. If you have never encountered any of them (although this is hardly possible, we think that skis and rollers are familiar to almost everyone), think about which one will be the easiest for you to master.

Having decided with the vehicle, think, how real is your choice? Most types of kiting are tied to the time of year and / or terrain. For kitesurfing you need the sea, for snowkiting it's snow. If in your area there is neither one nor the other, are you ready to spend money for a trip to warm countries or to a ski resort?

Note that kiting is a rather difficult formsport. A kiteur needs to be able to manage and with the chosen vehicle (board, skis, etc.) and with a kite. This requires attention, reaction, knowledge of the laws of aerodynamics, the ability to assess the strength and direction of the wind. Kiting is invariably fraught with danger and injury.

If it does not scare you, and you firmly decided that kiting is the best hobby for you, do not rush. Find experienced and qualified instructor: he will teach you everything you need to know and be able to get pleasure from kiting, and not lie around in a hospital with fractures. Well, get ready to lay out a tidy sum for high-quality equipment.
